"32, long," Jarod smirked. "You're losing your touch, Parker."

She shrugged. "You grew! And shush. Hmmm..." Her eyes narrow as she begins to evaluate the offerings. "That one (http://www.bluefly.com/pages/products/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=2017698203&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2266559&N=935&Nao=36&Ne=500000&Nu=Product+ID&Ntk=all&Ntt=suits&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial). Go try them on."

Jarod sighed, but did as he was told. "I can't believe I'm letting you dress me, Parker." He returned a few minutes later, wearing a pin-striped suit (http://www.bluefly.com/pages/products/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=2016340207&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2266561&N=935&Ne=500000%CE?=Product+ID&Ntk=all&Ntt=suits&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial).

"Model, turn, model, turn," Parker chanted, grinning, then cocked her head, blinking. "It actually looks... really good."

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Jarod did as ordered, hoping it would minimize the time spent doing this. "You sound surprised, Parker. And really good as in I can be done?" He asked, hopefully.

She grimaced at him, then went over an removed invisible lint from his lapel. "No. There might be something better. And I'm not surprised you look good, just that good," she muttered under her breath.

Parker turned him around by the shoulders, and gave him a push back to the dressing room.

Jarod morosely made his way back to the dressing room and came out dressed in another suit (http://www.bluefly.com/pages/products/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=2017698203&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2266559&N=935&Nao=36&Ne=500000%CE?=Product+ID&Ntk=all&Ntt=suits&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial). "Well?"

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Better," she said, with a pleased, feline grin. "Now, the next time you have a job interview, or, god forbid, a court date, you'll be ready." She picked up a maroon tie, and held it up to him, then frowned, and grabbed one in royal blue. "Put this on, and if it works, you're done. We just need to get you shoes to match."

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Shoes?" He may have looked a bit hunted. He took the blue tie and retreated to the dressing room. He returned fully dressed, but a bit frustrated. "I'm out of practice."

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Come on, don't you want to look good?" Parker posed him in front of the three-way mirror. "Who'd recognize you, dressed like this?" She handed him a pair of shoes (http://www.bluefly.com/pages/products/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=2022324857&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2394559&N=979&Ns=New%7c1%7c%7cProduct%2bCode%7c1&Nu=Product+ID), and grinned smugly. "You could go to any board meeting anywhere, and they'd think you belonged, now."

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
"They thought I belonged anyway, Parker." He wasn't pouting, really. He slid the boots on and took a few steps, then slid them off. "They're too small--too short in the toe."

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you still growing? That's ridiculous." She narrowed her eyes at him, and grabbed another pair, in a larger size. "What do you mean, they thought you belonged anyway?"

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm eighteen, Parker. That's perfectly normal," he argued, fully prepared to quote statistics. He slid the boots on and walked in them. "Better. And apparently I make a very convincing computer company executive when I put my mind to it. Brash, young, not in a suit."

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank god I'm still growing too. I'd hate to end up much shorter than you are.... Perfect." Parker grinned, and straightened his tie, then gave it a pat. "And computer companies, pfftt. You'll have to tell me more about it, but they get away with that because they're geeks. Anywhere else, you have to walk the walk, and that means suit."

"Everything's a competition with you, Parker."

He chuckled, then bowed. "Do I pass scrutiny? You'll be seen in public with me?"

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Everything's a competition with everyone. Most people just don't know it." Parker leaned her elbow against his shoulder, and studied the two of them in the mirror for several moments, then grinned at his reflection. "Well, I'm here now, aren't I?" She gave him a little push. "Go, pack it up, get ready to buy."

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
With a nod, Jarod retreated to the dressing room, then came out carrying the suit, shoes, tie, and dress shirt a bit later.

He'd already seen the price tags in the dressing room, so he wouldn't be completely shocked at the register. Still, he'd never spent $1,500 on one set of clothes before.

"This is much more comfortable," he said, looking pointedly down at his sweater, jeans, and black boots.

Parker rooooolled her eyes. "Sometimes, you are such a guy. Comfort is for when you're alone." She gestured to her own plum Versace, which had not been bought on sale. "I get away with more because I look corporate and responsible. If I wanted comfort, I'd walk around in my pajamas!"

Re: Century 21

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Privately, Jarod thought that Parker'd be a lot happier if she spent more time in her pajamas and a lot less time in Versace, but he decided not to say anything.
