Spa at the Monastery, St. John's, Newfoundland, Monday Afternoon

It was distinctly colder in St. John's than it had been in Fandom. Then again, for a city known to be the foggiest, snowiest, wettest, windiest and cloudiest of Canada, that was only to be expected. The ocean crashed somewhat menacingly into the coast every now and again, and by the time the group from Fandom arrived, the sky was already starting to darken.

Too-dark for work, but not too-dark to check into the hotel and unpack.

The hotel itself was a rather intimidating white building, surrounded by heavy bushes. Inside, though, you would find not just rooms fitted with cosy fireplaces and cosier jet-tubs near the beds, but also an extensive spa for anyone who really just wanted to relax before getting to the hard work.

Welcome to your vacation destination, Fandom.

Toby didn't know Jason, aside from the fact that they'd shared a couple classes. He had the impression that he was a nice enough guy, though, and even if he wasn't... it was only for a week. Flinging his knapsack down on the bed closest the window, he followed moments after with a spectacular flop.

Kate was used to traveling, very used to it, and had even been to Canada before, but had never been on an actual vacation in her life.

She dropped her bag on the bed and wandered over to examine the bath-hot tub whatever it was in the corner of the room. This kind of luxury was completely alien to her.

Chuck had at least met Billy, and by that was pretty confident this rooming arrangement was going to work out okay.

First things first, he was throwing himself and his bags onto a bed and experimenting with the TV. Getting the important things out the way, here.

Annie decided she loved this place as soon as she walked in, setting her bags down to check everything out. There was a tub. In the bedroom. She'd never use it because tub in the bedroom but how cool was that?

Dany had not exactly spent much time in water recently, and the pool was more than a little inviting. While her bathing costume was more a long and more modest than HBO standards gown on the sheer side, it was still a pleasure to dip her feet into the water as she braided her hair back and tried to decide if she'd go all the way in.

And yes, she was judging all the girls in bikinis. And quietly wondering if she should get one too.

Tara didn't really know William, but she'd seen him around enough to get a sense that, while rooming with boys would never be her Favorite Thing Ever, William wasn't really the kind of boy she needed to worry about. She started to unpack before she got distracted by the fireplace, wondering if it would be rude to start a fire before her roomie got there.

Sam wandered in a little after Annie. His eyes immediately focused on the tub in the bedroom too. He'd seen the tub before he'd seen the beds.

"Well, that's...a weird place for a bathtub," he said idly before meandering over to the beds. "People must really be lazy in this hotel. Roll outta bed and into the tub."

Of course Tyrion was hungry. It had been hours and hours since last time he ate. He got a plate of beef tenderloin and some ale, tucking in cheerfully as he tried to get the measure of the place.

"Well, walking the extra steps into the bathroom would be really hard," Annie joked. "So, um, you're in this room too, huh? We're in this room together?"

Someone hated her. Someone had signed her up for Madrox's class and now they put her in the same room as the cute boy on vacation. She wanted to know who kept doing this sort of thing so she could punish them. Or write a strongly-worded letter. A polite, strongly-worded letter.

"That's what it looks like," Sam said, tossing his one single solitary bag onto the bed before he dropped down on it, bouncing a few times. "That okay? I can sleep in the lobby if you'd prefer having it to yourself. Not that I wanna sleep in the lobby because it's inevitable that some kid would draw a mustache on my face but I will."

"No, that's totally okay," she assured him. Luckily she still looked cute in the mornings? "Here at least you're safe from Sharpie mustaches, and we should probably keep it that way."

"Thanks," he said, giving her a brief smile. "I'm not a great sleeper anyway so odds are I'll end up walking around or catching one or two hours naps during the day so I can experience all Canada has to offer. I don't know what that is but I'm sure it's great."

"Based on TV, Mounties and maple syrup," she answered. "You're not a great sleeper?"

"Not usually," Sam told her, shrugging. "I do my best but me and sleep, we just do not get along. Sometimes I can manage it -- "

If he happened to wear the pouch that left him feeling disconnected from himself, of course.

"I think we're next door to Topher," Ben commented idly as he walked into the room and noticed the single bed. "...Um."

Smooth, Skywalker.

"True," Ben replied. "There's less chance of you stealing all of the covers this way, too."

Awkward.

"Why is the tub in the middle of the room?"
