Spring Break Trip 3/8 - Bus Trip Home

Pack up your bags, get everything in order and climb aboard the big purple bus back to Fandom.

The bus leaves London at 4pm GMT and will arrive at Fandom at 6pm EST.

Rory happily snapped a shot with her camera phone, and took a few of others on the bus, before busying herself with streaking Xander's hair.

And then she pulled out the matching lipstick.

Parker gave a thumb's up, and watched as Rory applied it. Hmm. Not quite a match, but... close enough.

*FLASH*

"I think if we do anything to his eyes, he'll wake," Rory murmured apologetically. "I have a Sharpie, I think?"

"Just make sure it doesn't tickle too much," Parker cautioned her. "That's how Daisy thwarted us by waking up at the beginning of the year."

Rory nodded, and pulled out a Sharpie. "You want to do the honors?"

Giving her a little bow, Parker took the Sharpie, pondered for a moment, then grinned.

And drew little fishies of doom swimming up his jaw to his mouth.

Rory took the Sharpie and thought for a moment before beginning to draw a flower in the middle of his forehead.

However, Rory's not the best artist. So after a minute, she sort of scrapped that idea and turned it into a maple leaf.

And then she wrote, "IT'S BUTTERY!" in lovely block letters across his left arm.

Parker took one last picture -- *FLASH*-- then patted Xander on his now pink-and-horned head, and curled up with a copy of Vogue for the rest of the trip.

Art was done. No one else would be allowed to damage the perfection of their masterpiece.

Rory, being NOT AN IDIOT, did not succumb to sleep, and instead pulled out the pamphlet Andrew had given her for the ride home.

But not before taking a few more camera phone pictures, and one with her real camera.

When Xander woke up (EXCPET HE WASN"T ASLEEP HE WAS JUST RESTING HIS EYES OMG), even before he opened his eyes, he smelled nail polish.

It was a testament to just how long he'd been bestest friends with a soon-to-be-lovingly-deadinated girl, that he didn't open them until he'd already said clearly, "Women are mean and evil."

Rory tried to look carefully innocent.

"What, Xander?"

"I don't think Xander's awake yet. Poor guy." Parker looked concerned. "You're not still bus-sick, are you, Xander?"

He opened his eyes and looked down at his fingernails.

"Well, at least it's not pink."

"Mm. Would you like a mirror?" Rory offered helpfully, holding out a compact.

"What, and ruin the surprise?" But he took the mirror anyway, and flipped it open.

After studying himself carefully with no visible outward reaction, he closed the compact, and reached for his laptop case.

"Dear Willow: women are mean and evil," he said out loud, then sighed, and hit the delete key. "Can't; I'm not speaking to her. For like at least 24 hours. Give or take. Because she's mean and evil."

"I think that the glitter really highlights your resemblance to Viggo Mortensen. Although maybe eye shadow would help." Parker peered over his shoulder. "And why is *she* mean and evil? Would I approve?"

"It's Girly Day," Rory explained.

"She's mean and evil because she lacks a Y chromosome," Xander said, staring sadly at the unaddressed e-mail screen. "Like every other one of my friends that I would possibly need to send an e-mail to because they won't see the evidence in person the second I step off the bus. Except Oz, and as Best Friend I'm contractually bound to be not talking to Willow's ex, even if I'm mad at her. Why, may I ask, is it Girly Day? Was Mean And Evil Day too long to fit on the Hallmark cards?"

"It's International Women's Day," Rory elaborated.

"And to celebrate that, we made you and Honorary Woman. Not because you have a manly, strapping Y chromosome, but because you are cool enough to have two X chromosomes," Parker said sweetly. "You've been inducted!"

"I'm honored. Nobody noticed that Mean And Evil Day says it more compactly?" Xander scrolled idly through the names in Willow's Sunnydale contacts list. "Jonathon, once went out with Cordelia so already knows, Percy, no, he was a jerk to Willow, Scott, no, he was a jerk to Buffy, Larry... not gonna be dating any so he doesn't need the warning. Although hmm. That won't protect him from falling asleep on the bus near 'em."

"Tell him I said hi."

"I still think it's a good look for you," Rory said sweetly.

"Subject: Friendly Warning. Dear Larry: Women are mean and evil. I used to think that at least they were cute, but even that's rapidly wearing thin. Parker says hi. Xander."

He hovered his finger over the enter button, then snickered and hit it for emphasis. It wasn't like they were actually in wireless range of-- he glanced out the window at the strange shapes and colors outside -- anything.

Which is why he was totally imagining the little spinning pizza wheel of death, and the 'operation completed' popup.

"Hey, I'm not mean or evil, and I'm still cute!" Rory said defensively. "Did it actually send?"
