Kohala Coast, Hawaii - Morning & Afternoon - Friday - February 25th

With only two days of vacation left, time was running out for the guests to enjoy the blue skies and warm ocean breeze of Hawaii. Luckily, there were still plenty of things to do at the resort, for anyone who wasn't worn out from all the fun yet!

Whirlpool

Anakin hadn't drunk that much alcohol in one sitting in many, many many years, and was definitely feeling the effects this morning.

Which was why he was hiding in the whirlpool (with his sunglasses on because light was clearly evil), hating everything, but especially fanfiction writers.

And tequila. He also hated tequila.

Raven was spending the morning wandering about the resort, making certain she hadn't missed anything interesting to do.

When she walked into the whirlpool area and saw someone was there, she started to say a polite "Excuse me," then realized it was Anakin and turned an interesting shade of crimson, quickly spinning around and squeezing her eyes shut. "I am sorry, Professor Skywalker, I did not mean to disturb you," she said quickly.

There was a voice. A loud, loud voice...

Anakin cracked open one eye. "Hello, Raven," he said. "You didn't disturb me."

Raven would've likely promptly fled were it not for the suffering she sensed. She could hardly turn her back on that -- except she couldn't exactly turn around, either. Dilemma!

"You are not feeling well," she noted. "Can I help you?" Your hangover, give it to her.

Anakin was sorely tempted.

"Yes," he finally decided. After all, the tequila had been self-medication for the terrible, terrible writing, and it hadn't really worked.

"And thank you."

Raven could totally write much better stories about how the Brave Jedi Knight was Grievously Injured and had to be carefully nursed back to health by a Beautiful Young Damsel. She'd leave the Master/Padawan games to the experts.

Now, how to manage this without actually looking at him?

She cracked her eyes open, enough to make certain she didn't stumble and end up falling in herself, and crouched down, keeping her gaze on his face and nowhere else. "Were you drinking last night?" she asked, not judging -- she'd never judge Anakin -- as she offered him her hand. She'd healed enough hangovers to recognize the feel of them.

"A bit," he admitted. "Rory and I went out with Leia and Jaina and caught up."

"I have dealt with the effects of excess before," Raven said. Okay, maybe she was judging a tiny tiny bit. "It will be no difficulty to purge your body of any discomfort or pain."

Anakin smiled a little ruefully. "I appreciate it," he said. "Have you been having fun this week?"

Raven winced as she started to draw the hangover into herself, but she was pleased that her gifts seemed to be working just fine despite her nervousness about the effects the manner of her resurrection might have upon them.

"I have," she said. "I have not engaged in any water activities since I do not know how to swim, but I have explored the resort and its surrounding environment. I went to the zoo yesterday, and the day before that Jono and I went up Mauna Kea to look at the stars. It was a beautiful sight."

"You don't need to swim in order to enjoy the whirlpool," he said with a little smile. "It's just a warm, swirling bathtub, really. You can try it after I leave, if you'd like."

Because sharing a whirlpool with a student might be a bit awkward.

Raven wouldn't dream of it. Or write any fanfic involving it. Really!

"Perhaps I will try later," she said, pressing her hand to her forehead to will the headache away. Azar, why did people do this to themselves? "I have visited the onsen in Fandom, and I know I should not be frightened of the water when I could easily teleport away from it, but it still makes me nervous."

"And you should learn to swim," Anakin added. "It's silly to be afraid of something that has an easy solution."

"Do you know how to swim?" Raven asked. She knew he'd grown up surrounded by saaaaaaand after all.

"Yes," Anakin said. "I learned when I got to the Temple." He smiled. "We were sent to a lot of different worlds--they couldn't be expected to remember which of us could swim or not."

"Perhaps this summer, then, I will attempt to learn," Raven said.

The last of the hangover dissipated, and Raven sighed audibly in relief. The pain didn't linger as it had before she'd fallen to her father's power. "Are you feeling better now?" she asked.
