Kohala Coast, Hawaii | Morning & Afternoon | Tuesday | February 22nd

Everyone should feel sorry for the poor bastards left behind in Fandom where snow collected atop the ice that coated the ground overnight. But in Hawaii, everything was sunny, warm, and beautiful. It was paradise, and everyone there should take advantage!

"Nope, the colorful ones that come in our drinks," Karla said, tapping the aqua dolphin adorning her not-beer beverage. "They have a whole menagerie!"

Jonothon leaned over the table to inspect the dolphin, and then glanced up at Karla, dubiously.

"Hold on," Karla said, a little chagrined. "I have to count the colors and we haven't gotten there yet. Purple, green, blue, porcupine..."

"There was a little plastic porcupine in the jumble of plastic animals I got and it was just too cute not to include in the chain," Karla 'explained.' "I tried to convince Ben to keep it."

"No, little plastic animal everything. I want to leave Hawaii with a whole set! Maybe I'll use them to decorate the frog tank in my room. I bet they'll appreciate the extra color."

They were psychedelic frogs, after all.

"It's not like they do much anyway," Karla pointed out. "I just add some flies or some jello to their tank once or twice a week and they're good."

No, her trouble would begin if Fandom whimsy brought them all to life.

"Psychedelic ones," Karla answered quietly. Darkness, she hadn't realized Jono didn't know. "I inherited them from Drake when he died. They were the ones that Delirium--the first Delirium--created for him on Parent's Weekend. When she came to visit Didi. He asked me to take care of them for him."

Oh, wow. Jono actually winced a little bit, at that, his gaze dropping to the table right about then.

"I just do what Drake told me to do," Karla said. "But they seem to be doing okay. They're a lot bigger now."

Possibly because Karla fretted constantly and overfed them. She had the only obese frogs on the planet.

"They add a nice bit of color to the room, too."

She settled on a nice compromise. "Well, next time you're in my room, feel free to check out their tank. See if you can spot them amid the jungle of plastic animals."
