Kohala Coast, Hawaii | Morning & Afternoon | Tuesday | February 22nd

Everyone should feel sorry for the poor bastards left behind in Fandom where snow collected atop the ice that coated the ground overnight. But in Hawaii, everything was sunny, warm, and beautiful. It was paradise, and everyone there should take advantage!

Ben burst out laughing. "Definitely not something you'd want to sprain," he said when he could form words again.

Ender reached for one of the weights and tugged it off. "I hear that might be painful," he agreed.

"I don't I've ever even seen weights for helping in that area."

Ben, stop.

"I think you might be taking it a little too far, now," Ender told him, unbothered.

"Probably," Ben said. "It's not like I'm suddenly inspired to create a line of machines to fix this or anything."

Beat.

"Think we should suggest that to Tony?"

"Let's not," said Ender, sagely, "He might actually do it."

Having removed enough weights, he settled back into position.

Ben moved to stand over him to spot--not that he really though Ender would need the assistance.

"And he doesn't need more money than he has already."

"Technically, he can't access most of his accounts," Ender pointed out, a little bit of strain in his voice, but not all that much. He was used to this. "Sadly, that's not keeping him from running off and doing something stupid every other day."

"Other than the pink hair?" Ben replied with a snicker.

"I think young Tony has a lot worse than that in his arsenal," Ender agreed, then fell silent for a couple of minutes to finish up his own reps.

Ben waited until Ender was done, then held out a bottle of water. "He wants to buy a starship," he added.

"That'll end well," Ender said, taking the bottle. "Thanks. He hasn't tried to take yours apart yet?"

Ben snorted. "I think he has some sense of self-preservation."

Ben might be deluding himself.

Ender took a swig of water and loosened up his muscles with a roll of his shoulders. "I'm not so sure about that."

"I think he believes I'd kneecap him with a hydrospanner if he touches my ship," Ben amended.

"Again," Ender said, after a brief pause, "I'm not so sure he'd let that get in his way..."

Or maybe he was just teasing Ben. Who knew?

"He keeps threatening to hack into my systems, too."

"Maybe he really does have a death wish," Ben said with a snicker. "Even I'm not crazy enough to try to hack your stuff."

Especially not now that Jane had it under guard... "I told him good luck," he said, "but didn't add the part where I'm pretty sure I can beat you both at software. He seems like he likes a challenge, and I don't want to encourage him."

"Though it would be a useful lesson for him to learn," Ben mused. "Not being the smartest one in the room."

"And now you sound like Emma," Ender said, taking another swig of water before offering the bottle back.

"Do I want to sound like Emma?" Ben asked, taking a drink.

"Emma took one look at Tony's brain and decided he was arrogant and needed to be taken down a notch, regardless of how confused he was at the time," Ender said, "So in this case, I'm going to go with 'no'."

Ben made a little face. "No, I agree with you," he said. "I'm not trying to fix him or anything. He'd meet two immovable objects if he tried to mess with your systems or my ship anyway, and that's enough lesson."

Ender shot him a wry smile, then rubbed at his forehead with his towel as he got up. "Hopefully," he said. "So what's up for you today?"

"This, then a shower and breakfast, then beach time before it gets too hot," Ben replied. "You?"
