Everyone should feel sorry for the poor bastards left behind in Fandom where snow collected atop the ice that coated the ground overnight. But in Hawaii, everything was sunny, warm, and beautiful. It was paradise, and everyone there should take advantage!

"Nah, I only go in volcanoes if Olympus asks me to," he said, shrugging a shoulder. "And man, you don't know Luke at all, do you? For a guy who claims to be his friend, you're kind of making me wonder if that's even true anymore."

Jason knew it was a bad idea to rise to Percy's bait, but he just couldn't stop himself. "Luke is my friend. That's why I don't like thinking about what kinds of things he might miss you for," he said. "I know about the things that are more important."

Most of them, at least. He'd probably be just in the dark about what was happening back in Fandom as Percy.

"Oh please, enlighten me to the things that are important, Jason," Percy requested, waving a hand. "Let's hear how much you know."

That earned Percy another eyeroll. "That would involve talking to you, and that's not on my to do list, no matter how much the school wants it. Don't you have water you'd rather be in?"

"There's plenty of time to do that," he said, waving a hand. "Right now, I'm checking out the volcanoes and talking to my good friend, Jason. Wouldn't want you to think I forgot about you or something. I'm sure you're lonely and all."

"You're the last person I'd consider a friend. And you've got to be just as lonely as I am." It wasn't like Nico was the only person missing from the trip. "You can forget about me any time, I really won't mind. I'd love to be able to do the same to you, except you won't leave me alone."

"How can I forget the guy that stole my face?" Percy wondered, smiling thinly. "It's just impossible. Besides, we're roommates. Aren't we supposed to do this bonding crap? Isn't that how the movies go? We hate each other, we get stuck together and then suddenly we're friends?"

"Which one of us was here first? Oh, that'd be me," Jason said bitterly. "I think in our case, it'll be we hate each other, we get stuck together, and we just hate each other more. Or beat each other up, which is getting more and more tempting by the moment." Even though he knew what the outcome would be.

"Didn't we try that last time after you let your mouth get the better of you?" Percy wondered, raising an eyebrow. "You really wanna try that again. Go for it if you really wanna feel like puking again."

"I'm not going to do it, because I don't want to get kicked out of here," Jason said. And because he didn't want to get the crap kicked out of him, but he wasn't saying that out loud. "But I'm definitely going to think about it. It's kind of a soothing mental image."

"You do a lot of daydreamimg about that?" Percy had to ask, raising an eyebrow.

"When you're especially obnoxious? Yeah, I do," Jason said, glaring at Percy more. "You can't tell me you don't think about ways of getting rid of me too."

"No, I was just gonna check to make sure your daydreams aren't your way of saying you secretly want me," he said, smirking over at Jason. "We did have a kid last weekend."

That got Jason to glare even harder at Percy and make a disgusted face. "I do not want you. Maybe you want me, and that's why we had a kid."

"Hey, you're the one that admitted to daydreaming about me," Percy joked, smirking. "I never said a thing. Unspoken desire, maybe?"

"I daydream about beating you into unconsciousness. That's not exactly a sign of desire," Jason said bitterly. "You're the one who won't leave me alone."

"Well, it could be," Percy said, poking at these particular buttons in an attempt not to get pissed. "Maybe you're the kind that likes things rough or something."

Jason probably should have kept his mouth shut, but he was too annoyed to think about exactly what he was saying. "That's not the kind of rough I like," he said with a smirk.

"And you get all weird and shy when Luke mentions anything to do with me?" Percy asked, making a face. "How great for you and Nico. I'll be sure to congratulate him when we get back."

No, he would not do that.

"There's a big difference between 'weird and shy' and 'grossed out,'" Jason said. "And thank you for confirming that you're not the rough type." It was always nice to know that there were differences between the two of them.

Percy shrugged, not too bothered by not being a fan of rough stuff. "Luke enjoys cuddling. If you tell him I told you that, I will kill you."

"I'm not going to judge anyone on their love of cuddling," Jason said, especially considering how much he and Nico both seemed to enjoy it. "And I won't tell Luke you told on him either."

Percy shrugged a shoulder. "Maybe I like that stuff better than being rough and aggressive. You can keep that side of our shared face, Jason. Have fun with it."

"Oh, I will," Jason replied. "I'm more than happy to have something separate from you."
