As the sun gave way to the moon, the lights around the Big Island started coming on, brightening up the dark sky. Night falling just meant several new ways for the guests to enjoy themselves! A slight wind ruffled the palm trees but the temperature remained warm, making it comfortable enough to take long walks on the beach or just enjoy gazing up at the clear night sky.

There was still plenty to do, though! Nighttime activities were starting to swing into motion, music was wafting along the breeze, drawing people towards it's rhythmic sounds, and the smells of Hawaiian dishes were prevalent.

It was nighttime in Hawaii and the vacation had just begun!

"Well..." Jaime trailed off as he realized he didn't have a non-lame comeback.

She grinned, resting her head on her folded arms, just watching him.

...

Wait, was that weird?

He hoped not. He did that with her quite a lot himself.

"Well... at least my roommate is awesome?"

Oh sure. Remind her that they would be roommates for the week.

"Exactly!" Momoko pushed herself up, and busied herself with pulling the towel off her head and rubbing her hair, trying not to think. "It's totally the universe's way of keeping balance, see?"

"You sure know how to make a guy feel appreciated," Jaime teased with a little snicker.

"How about if I said something nice and sweet about how you're totally awesome and wonderful and smart and hot and nice and the greatest guy on earth ever," Momoko smiled as she stood and walked the towel back into the bathroom, pausing to take a deep breath.

"Would that help?" she continued in the same tone, reaching for her large-tooth comb before heading back into the room.

...

Yes.

As evidenced by Jaime's ridiculous blush.

Clutching her comb, Momoko padded back to sit on her bed without looking at him and missed his blush. "No answer? So do I have to go back to 'kinda awesome'?"

She began running the comb through her hair, working out any tangles.

Jaime managed to find his voice, even if it was just a biiiit squeaky. "No, no, you should definitely be helpful!"

"Then how about this?" she laughed, dropping her hands to her lap and looking over at him. "With you and me in the same room, this automatically becomes the center of awesome and best room ever. They had to put us together to try to contain our ultimate super awesomeness in one space."

There was no way he wasn't going to laugh at that.

"I'm sure that's what happened!"

"It totally is." Oh good he was laughing. Maybe this would be okay?

Maybe it would. Jaime grinned.

"You know, this could be a really fun week."

Momoko chuckled and went back to her hair. "It totally better be; it's our last Spring Break together!"

Which thought made her blink and her hand stilled for a moment, but she quickly recovered. "And if we can't have fun in Hawaii, we will totally lose awesomeness points."

Huh. It was. What an odd thought.

Jaime's lip tugged down before coming up in a grin. "Well, we wouldn't want to lose any awesome points, so I guess we'll have to make sure that we have fun, huh?"

"It's going to take a lot of hard work, but I think somehow we will manage it!"

Jaime smirked, then walked over to her and held up a hand for a high-five. "We are, after all, so awesome."

She slapped his hand with hers -- the one not holding the comb. "Exactly!"

For just a moment, Jaime stood there, his hand at his side. Then he grinned. "I guess... I should get changed for bed, huh..."

"Uhhh." Momoko wasn't blushing, but the question, asked as he was standing at her bedside and grinning down at her... it had her, well, flustered for a minute.

"Yes?"

"Okay!" He could have just gone into the bathroom without saying that, couldn't he?

Jaime totally facepalmed as he closed the bathroom door behind him.

When the door closed behind him, Momoko fell back against the bed and groaned. It was going to be... a week.
