As the sun gave way to the moon, the lights around the Big Island started coming on, brightening up the dark sky. Night falling just meant several new ways for the guests to enjoy themselves! A slight wind ruffled the palm trees but the temperature remained warm, making it comfortable enough to take long walks on the beach or just enjoy gazing up at the clear night sky.

There was still plenty to do, though! Nighttime activities were starting to swing into motion, music was wafting along the breeze, drawing people towards it's rhythmic sounds, and the smells of Hawaiian dishes were prevalent.

It was nighttime in Hawaii and the vacation had just begun!

"You might be surprised," Ariel said, gaining a confident smirk and picking her drink back up, which she slurped loudly from a crazy straw.

"I don't know about that. I'm pretty tough to surprise," Bruce pointed out.

"I don't know. But that doesn't mean I'll find it surprising," Bruce pointed out.

"Mm." Ariel sipped at her drink a little bit. "Okay, sure. But the element of surprise isn't the point, anyway, but just that you'll enjoy it."

"Unless," Ariel had to reiterate, "it involves a party..."

"Which had better not happen," Bruce said.

"It won't," Ariel vowed.

Nothing more than a party of two, anyway.

"That doesn't mean I can't be a little sad for that. I guess I'll just have to think of another reason to throw a big party while we're here."

"I'll show up to a party without myself as a guest of honor," Bruce said. "Just let me know when."

"Oh, I will," Ariel assured him with a wink. "And I know, I know, no guest of honor status, but would you at least accept VIP?"

"That...actually could be a really cool theme!" Ariel mused. "A lot less expected than something beachy or with seashells."

She did have seashells on the brain, really. They weren't jst for bras anymore.

"Is it okay if that's the limit of my involvement with planning?" Bruce asked.

"Perfectly a-okay," Ariel nodded. "I definitely don't mind taking it from here. But if you change your mind..."

"Yeah, I figured you'd say that," Ariel said with a shake of her head, but her smile was still there. It was hard to keep it off her face, especially when she had a crazy straw to drink from. "Oh! Who's your roommate? Mine's Ender. I let him pick the bed by the balcony so he can see the sky and because he'll probably be in there loads more than me, anyway."

"I'm with Bod," Bruce said. "So that should be okay. I took the bed by the balcony for myself, though. Just in case I feel like heading out there in the middle of the night."

"Because it's so much further from the other bed, too." Ariel shook her head. "But I like Bod! He'll probably make a really good roommate."

"I'm that much less likely to disturb him this way," Bruce said. "I'd rather not wake him up, after all."

"I live to be considerate," Bruce said. When there was a good reason for it, at least.
