New Gotham, Tuesday

The Policeman's Ball was tonight. There was time to check out New Gotham and shop for dress clothes first, of course, or do a lot of other things. But that was the cool part of the day.

Priestly blinked. "Right." 'Cause Dinah lived in crazyville. He forgot that, every now and then. "So I'm thinking, I'm not gonna like, madly wash dye out? But maybe slick it down and see if Alfred can hook me up with a decent suit."

"Alfred can totally do that," Dinah said, swinging from one bedpost. "Barbara says he used to get Bruce Wayne tuxes and corsages on like, twenty minutes notice. I bet he can get you one to match whatever hair color traces you want. And that way, you'll look rock star, and not ping the police's radar for anything except wild partying."

"Nuh-unh. Maybe once a year? Twice?" Dinah thought about it, then nodded. "Yeah, twice a year. This one, and usually there's a benefit thing around Christmas or New Year's that Helena won't go to by herself, so we go along as moral support." She bounced off the bed. "Her board of directors tries to make her go to more, but she blows them off, so we don't have to go eithere."

Dinah snickered. "I'm sooooo telling her you said that. And getting her to invite you to the holiday bash! The food is great, and you guys can sneak out during the boring speeches. We usually do that anyway."
