Friday dawned looking picture perfect. The sun rose high into the sky, providing warmth and light across the island. Fluffy clouds dotted the sky, giving it a postcard like look. And all across the resort, things were opening up, coming to life, preparing to entertain. The vacation was nearly over for the denizens of Fandom but there was still time to have some fun. "You don't say." He grinned back. "You were at the three-minute dates thing, right?" 'Cause yeah. Pink. Also, so were her eyes, kind of. A little hard to forget. "I'm Emmett."

It took her a second, then, "Ah! At Caritas? I was!" She clapped her hands. "You go to the school too! You must be new?"

"I didn't have much luck, but yep! I mean I met some totally nice guys, but none that were really my type." She grabbed her (pink) towel and spread it out so she could sit more comfortably. Next to him. "Did you meet anyone at the 3-minute date night? Well, I mean like meet-meet, since you can meet people anywhere."

"Just got there in January," Emmett confirmed. "And let's see. One wrong gender, one already in a relationship, two maybes and a frog."

"Ooh! I had a wrong gender too! But she was totally nice and we just chatted. And the frog was Robin, right? He's a friend of mine! He's actually my roommate this trip!" She grinned. "The two maybes is awesome, though! I wish I'd gotten even one!"

"Well, by maybe I mean wasn't a talking stuffed animal and didn't actually say 'sorry, you're not my type' out loud. " Which given Emmett's general optimism about things like that, totally qualified as a maybe.

"I totally get told that all of the time! Well, I used to, you get tired of hearing it after a few hundred-" thousand "-times, so I stopped throwing myself at every cute boy I saw! especially when I got here and they were everywhere!"

Although she was kind of wondering if going back to that was worth trying. She wasn't doing any better with the waiting for boys to notice her plan.

"So, what is your type?"

"Every cute boy I see," Emmett answered smoothly and with a wide grin.

Momoko had a moment of confusion, thinking maybe he was making fun of her, then she realized that maybe he meant... "Ah! You're like that?"

Which was the closest she could get to actually asking.

"Optimistic?" He knew what she meant and didn't get the vibe that she meant anything bad by it, but that didn't quench the need to mess with her just a little.

It totally didn't matter; love was love, you couldn't help that!

"Totally optimistic," Momoko laughed in return, arranging her towel so she could lie down and get some sun. If he was going to tease her for her question? She was totally going to tease back. "Especially if you and I have the same definition of 'cute'!"

"You've got to be more picky than that!" She chuckled. "Although the breathing part I'll totally agree with! And I'll even add 'not a zombie or a gremlin'! What's a '70's mustache'?"

Emmett mimed an especially luxuriant one across his mouth. "Where it looks like there's a caterpillar taped to their face."

Momoko laughed. "I've only seen those on tv and in movies! Do people really wear them?"
