Atlantis Resort - Wednesday [Rooms & Activities]

As the sun rose over the Bahamas, it brought with it all the signs of rain...

Oh, who are we kidding? It was another warm and sunny day here at Atlantis, and with everything at the resort reset and ready, all that was needed were guests ready to go out and have an amazing day.

"Right now?" Warren was being totally smug now, yes. Why shouldn't he be? He was running around in public wearing nothing but a pair of swim trunks, with a particularly cute girl in his arms. "Whatever you say, Kate."

She had to know what was about to happen now, right? Now that he was up to his hips in the water, that it was totally okay for him to just go right on ahead and dump her in?

Kate made decent splash as she fell in, kind of mid-flail and and with an incoherent screech that was probably something about how he could do this to his fake step-sister.

And of course she got absolutely soaked, as was evident when she got back to her feet, trying to get her wet hair off her face so she could see.

Warren was looking as cocky as ever as he leaned forward and reached a hand out to help her get the hair from her eyes.

"You know, 'wet in a bikini' is totally a good look for you too."

Oh, he was just asking for it.

So completely asking for it.

"Yeah? Let's see how well the wet look suits you," Kate said, going to grab a hold of his arm – as it was still the only thing she had a clear view of – with the intention of yanking it in the hopes that he'd lose his balance and topple into the water.

Because you couldn't just wade hip-deep into water and expect to not get wet.

Warren probably would have stood a chance if it wasn't for the fact that it had been since he was maybe six since someone had last tried to drag him underwater at the beach.

There was flailing. And, yes, even flapping that registered mostly as inexplicable splashing in the waves not far off. And then a somewhat spectacular splashdown.

And by the time Warren managed to surface, he was laughing and sputtering and looking not unlike a... Well, not unlike a perfectly normal if slightly wet boy in a swimsuit.

"I had that coming to me, didn't I?"

"You so, so did," Kate confirmed with a nod and a smirk. Then she tilted her head to the side, going for innocence. "But it's okay. You look good wet, too."

"I can live with that."

He totally could. Mostly, it involved lifting one hand and trying to flick the water from his eyes.

"I guess this means I should attempt to swim more often, once we're back on the island?"

"It's not a bad idea." Pause. "Unless you're going to insist on dragging me with you and dropping me in the water every time."

... Even that wouldn't really be all that bad, though.

"If it helps even things out at all, I'd totally let you pull me in after you after I do," Warren offered. His feathers were doing a slightly uncomfortable sort of soggy clinging thing to one another, not that anybody could see, and he lifted his shoulders a bit in an effort to fluff them out some.

"You'd get to see me looking like a pigeon in a puddle."

Now that was a mental image that made Kate snicker.

As if she hadn't been doing that a lot anyway.

As she spoke, she attempted to run her fingers through her hair, but it was too wet and tangled for that. "Well, when you put it like that..."

"It's actually pretty pathetic," he confessed, with a completely unashamed look on his face. "I spend about twenty minutes just fluffing dry after a shower."

Yes, fluffing dry.

"Fluffing dry?" Because that just had to be repeated, sounding amused. "Yeah, I can imagine how that would be a little on the pathetic side. Which, as we know, would be totally hilarious for me to see."

"I'm going to be mysteriously dripping water behind me for a while after this," Warren added. "I'd say it was a shame that you couldn't see now, but that would be a bold-faced lie, and I like to think that I'm far more sincere than all that."

"How nice of you," she grinned with a little snort. "It's okay. I can wait. This vacation is only a week, but we'll be stuck back in Fandom for, like, forever."

You know. Unless someone decided she couldn't handle it anymore.

But that was next week's issues.
