Atlantis Resort - Wednesday [Rooms & Activities]

As the sun rose over the Bahamas, it brought with it all the signs of rain...

Oh, who are we kidding? It was another warm and sunny day here at Atlantis, and with everything at the resort reset and ready, all that was needed were guests ready to go out and have an amazing day.

Karla ignored the lounge chairs. The times when she wasn't out swimming in the ocean, she was happily relaxing on a towel down on the warm sand. Life was good.

Was that little plastic beach pail closer than it had been a second ago?

It's entirely possible it was, but Karla wouldn't be able to say for certain. She had her nose buried in a book and wasn't noticing much. This could be seen by the number of times she would try to grab for her drink and miss.

Yes that pail, overturned so the open end was on the sand, was inching ever closer. It was also leaving tiny flipper prints and a kind of drag mark on the sand.

The Warlord Prince swept Griseld into his arms. "You shouldn't be here," he growled, his harsh tone at odds with the gentleness of his hands. "It isn't safe."

Griseld looked up at him, defiance crackling in her eyes. "Perhaps not, but you're not the only one that Selig is after," she said, voice pure and unafraid.

"Perhaps not," Duncan replied. "But at least he only wants me dead."

A noise from the other room drew their attention...

If Robin knew what Karla was reading he would find some way to blush furiously. As it was, he was too wrapped up in his game.

Closer, closer. One could almost hear the duh dun, duh dun (http://www.youtube.com/watch#playnext=1&playnext_from=TL&videos=3VEE87eSiVU&v=XLAYvjaGGqM).

"Duh dun, duuuuh dun."

Oh, they were getting to Karla's favorite part! When Griseld and Duncan realized that Selig was actually Duncan's half-brother and wore the Red! it was revealed that Duncan had been wearing his Birthright Jewel all along and he secretly wore the Gray!

Either the pail had overshot the chair, or it was circling.

"Duh dun duh dun duh dun..."

Karla reached for her drink, once again missing. It was so much easier when she could just float things over to her. This time, however, she didn't entirely miss--it was just ever-so-slightly to the left of where she was aiming for.

The glass--and alcohol--went tumbling off the table and towards the ground.

"Hell's fire and Mother Night!" Karla swore, startled. "What the Hell?" She peered down at saw...a bucket.

Which moved. In a somewhat disoriented fashion.

Jack kicked a bit of sand on her legs. From a safe distance, of course.

It took a few applications of sand for Karla to notice, but eventually she managed to drag her eyes away from the first clandestine meeting of Duncan and Griseld. "Why are you kicking sand at me?" she demanded.

Duncan was about to steal a kiss!

"Who, me?" He asked innocently, mid-kick. He turned it into something classy, like stubbing his toe. Like you do.

"Yes, you," Karla retorted, not at all fooled by the toe-stubbing charade. "Don't make me call a mini-sandstorm on you."

Technically, no one had said she couldn't use her powers...

"Like you could," he said with a small sneer...which disappeared as he perked up. "Wait, you can do that?"
glacial_queen: (We are NOT amused)

"I can indeed," Karla said, crossing her arms over her chest.

...Maybe. She'd never tried before. But Jack didn't need to know that.

"I wanna see!" he exclaimed, giving her a thumb's up.

He might have forgotten the part where she'd be calling up one to use on him. Pfft. Details.
