Atlantis Resort - Wednesday [Rooms & Activities]

As the sun rose over the Bahamas, it brought with it all the signs of rain...

Oh, who are we kidding? It was another warm and sunny day here at Atlantis, and with everything at the resort reset and ready, all that was needed were guests ready to go out and have an amazing day.

Another day, another book to read on the beach. Griff was enjoying all of this far more than he was willing to let on. Maybe there was something about the sand.

Or the sea view, atmosphere, warm sunshine... Lot of factors put this whole holiday way up there. Be a bit weird if it was just the sand. For Effy it was largely the warmth.

"Making yourself a permanent feature?" she said, pausing near Griff in her beach wanderings. Only the book seemed to change as far as she could tell.

Griff set his novel aside to see the person invading his light. "Thought the beach could use it, yeah."

"Better than a garden gnome." Now wasn't that a compliment. Fucking creepy, they were.

"Book better than watching the fish or whatever?"

A gnome was similar in size, even. "Staring at the water involves thinking," he explained. "The book's better. You in the group drinking their way through the hours?"

How reading involved less thought than staring at something, Effy wasn't quite sure, but if that was how Griff wanted to look at it... Not gonna object.

"Haven't tried it?" she guessed in response to his other question, smirking a moment and deciding to take a seat on the sand nearby. "It's quite fun."

"Can't even imagine what'd go down if I tried staying drunk for a week." Like his roommate was doing. "Nothing positive."

"What're you afraid of?"

Effy had a bad habit of completely ignoring the downsides of her reckless, hedonistic lifestyle. Probably catch up with her one day, but in the meantime, she'd never really understand other people's hesitancy.

"Doing something really stupid." And likely involving girls.

"Stupid can be fun," Effy pointed out. A lot of fun, in her opinion.

"Yes, but you date Karev," he pointed out. "I think our definitions are a little different there."

Effy rolled her eyes mildly, and slouched back on her hands. "It's not... dating." Almost made it sound like a dirty word with her emphasis.
