Atlantis Resort - Tuesday [Nightlife]

Once the sun had gone down at Atlantis, it was time for the real fun to begin. The DJs had their music prepared, the bar was fully restocked, and the casino was more than ready to take everyone's money. Tonight would not be the night to go to bed early...unless you had someone to join you.

"Are you from... China?" asked Hoshi, tilting her head slightly. Recognizing geographic speech patterns was tougher when people came from different time periods.

Mulan nodded. "Yes, though I am from a very long time ago. Impressive that you knew where I am from. Usually people have to ask."

"It usually isn't that difficult for me. I have a talent picking up different languages and regional dialects," explained Hoshi. "I'm also from a different time. It takes a little while to adjust."

"That is a very intriguing talent," Mulan told her. "You are from the past as well?"

"Not exactly," said Hoshi, trying to contain a smirk. "I'm from the 22nd century, somewhere around the year 2147. But I've been in Fandom for three years now, so I'm not entirely sure that time passes at the same rate there as it does here."

"Well, nice to meet someone from the very future then," Mulan grinned. "Interesting that this place allows someone from the past and future to talk to each other in a present time for some."

She tilted her head slightly. "You are not from America, are you?"

"No, I'm from Japan," said Hoshi. "Kyoto, actually. I haven't been back for a long time, though."

"We are from a similar region of the world, then," Mulan said.

"True, though I'm not entirely sure I'll be going back to Japan once my time in Fandom is done," said Hoshi. "At least in my time, there are so many more possibilities. I'm kind of tempted to settle in San Francisco."

"You should do what is best for you," Mulan said, nodding. "I intend to go home sometimes. I'd miss my parents and grandmother too much."

"Sadly, my mother and I do not get along very well," said Hoshi. "But there is someone special in San Francisco, if I end up going to college there."
