Atlantis Resort - Tuesday [Nightlife]

Once the sun had gone down at Atlantis, it was time for the real fun to begin. The DJs had their music prepared, the bar was fully restocked, and the casino was more than ready to take everyone's money. Tonight would not be the night to go to bed early...unless you had someone to join you.

From Blackjack, Craps, and slots to the Pegasus Race and Sports Book, there's plenty of gambling for those of age ~~or carrying ID that says they are~~ at Atlantis' Temple of the Sun Casino (http://www.atlantis.com/casino.aspx)

Mat was back in the casino. The waitresses looked thrilled to see him again, the pit bosses less so.

In a half hour, he'd amassed several thousand dollars in winnings at the craps table.

Helen had heard rumors about Mat's winnings last night so when she'd seen him in the casino, she stopped nearby to watch and shake her head in awe. "Amazing."

Mat glanced up and grinned. "I like dice."

"It might be more accurate to say that they like you," Helen said dryly, but she was still smiling.

"I think it might be a case of mutual admiration," Mat decided. "Do you play?"

She shook her head. "Gambling isn't something the priests approved of."

"And they aren't here," Mat said, handing out the dice. "Try it."

Helen laughed and took the dice, looking them over carefully. "And I just throw them?"

"Well, onto the table, not at anyone," Mat said, smiling. "Yes. Sevens and elevens are good. Twos are not."

"I had figured the table part out," Helen said with a shy smile. She took a breath, concentrated and tossed the dice.

And then was oddly too nervous to look.

"You have to look at them," Mat said teasingly. "They aren't going to explode."

And there was a five and a two. "That's what I was supposed to get, yes?" she said with a smile.

"It was," Mat said, applauding.

She blushed. "I didn't do anything except throw them."

"See? There's nothing to it," Mat replied.

Well, there were a few hundred people in the casino who would probably say otherwise...

She raised an eyebrow at him. "I think perhaps luck had a great deal to do with it."

"Maybe a bit," Mat admitted. He'd never ended a night behind in dice.

Helen handed the dice back to them. "I think I'll leave this to the master," she said with a smile. "Kianah and I are content to watch your skill with the dice."

"Kianah?" Mat repeated.

Helen blushed and showed him the barely palm-sized creature. "My... pet. Hinate suggested I should get a companion and, well... this just seemed right."

Mat blinked. "What is it?" he asked carefully.

"A fennex fox," Helen said, offering him the little creature. "A desert animal originally. She's just a baby, but she'll only grow to weigh about a pound and a half."

Oh, the fox was going to stay right where it was.

"I'm used to foxes getting a little larger than that," he said with a tiny smile.

Momoko had been lured by the sounds of people having fun... Ah! Gambling, ooh! She stepped into the room but was stopped at the door and was ~~stupid~~ honest enough to answer the man in the suit that she would totally be 18 in July.

He was polite enough to ask that she totally return in July, thanked her for her patronage, and reminded her where the exit was.
