Atlantis Resort - Tuesday [Rooms & Activities]

The skies over Atlantis were clear and bright with just a few puffy white clouds to give that feeling of perfection in the very air. In the night, the resort had been reset, everything fresh and new, from smooth beaches to full buffets. Whatever the Fandomites hearts desired was there and ready for the taking!

"Can I sit here if I promise not to propose?" Karla asked with a grin, pointing at the sand not to far away from him.

Mat gave her a long look, eyes twinkling. "Yes," he finally declared. "But only then."

"I solemnly swear not to propose," Karla said, smirking a bit as she laid out her towel. "Protestations of love are also highly unlikely, though not completely off the table."

"I'll be sure to monitor your fruity drink consumption," Mat vowed, "just in case. How have you been, Karla?"

"It wouldn't be the drinking that did it," Karla said, giving him a crooked grin. "I can hold my alcohol better than that."

"That sounds like a challenge, my lady," Mat teased.

Karla glanced up at him, eyes sparkling. "What's the wager?" she asked immediately.

"What would you like it to be?" he replied. "Dinner? Dancing?"

"Dancing," Karla said immediately. "Though aren't you worried I'll be too unsteady on my feet?" She dimpled at him. "We should probably agree on terms, too."

"Oh, probably," Mat said airily. "Would you like it to be shots or mugs of ale?"

Karla made a face. "Definitely not ale," she said. "Shots it will be, if you're too manly for the pretty-colored drinks with umbrellas."

She liked them, okay? They tasted like fruit juice!

"Too bad I didn't get the recipe for gravediggers from Khary before I left."

"That sounds rather dire," Mat said with a laugh. "The gravedigger. There will no drinks with umbrellas."

"Spoilsport," Karla said with a laugh. "Fine then. Shots of what?"

"Whiskey," Mat declared immediately.

"Done," Karla agreed, and flung up her hand to catch a waiter's attention. Shortly afterwards, a tray had arrived with several decorative shot glasses brimming with amber whiskey.

Mat reached for the nearest glass and held it up. "To seeing you dance," he said teasingly.

Karla returned the salute. "While still drinking you under the table," she replied.

"Oh, that won't be happening," Mat vowed, downing his shot.

"So say you," Karla said, knocking hers back as well. "But I am a female of infinite complexities."

She still made a face at the taste. Whiskey had never been her favorite drink. Not that that was going to stop her, mind.

"Really," Mat replied, already reaching for the next drink. "How so?"

"Well, first thing, I'm very mysterious," Karla assured him before taking another shot. "Unfortunately, that also means I can't tell you the rest."

Mysterious as a rock, really.

Mat snorted and shot back his second drink, then reached for his third. "That seems a little bloody neat."

"Isn't it though?" Karla asked, also reaching for her third. "Can we say it's all part of my oh-so-mysterious charm?"

"No," Mat decided with a little hiccup. "That's not bloody fair."

Karla drank her shot, still making a face, and with deliberate care, put it back on the tray. "Why not? Is there anything you really wanna know?"
