Atlantis Resort - Tuesday [Rooms & Activities]

The skies over Atlantis were clear and bright with just a few puffy white clouds to give that feeling of perfection in the very air. In the night, the resort had been reset, everything fresh and new, from smooth beaches to full buffets. Whatever the Fandomites hearts desired was there and ready for the taking!

Rose knew she should be taking advantage of all the stuff that looked totally awesome here at the resort, but she couldn't really summon the energy to do any of it.

Instead she'd wandered down the beach a bit - sunshine still beckoned strongly, away from the bar and most of the people. She sat on the sand, pulling her knees up to her chest as she watched the waves, totally lost in her thoughts.

"Rose," Mat said, smiling and waving as he walked along the beach toward her. "I was looking for you."

A good guardian should be paying more attention to other people on the beach. Rose was not being a good guardian, no, and she looked up quickly hearing him.

"Are we playing hide and seek?" Rose asked, giving him a smile. "Cause I should like hide better next time."

"Your seashell impression could use a little work," Mat agreed, dropping into the sand next to her.

"And see, I was going for a mermaid thing," Rose said, shaking her head. "Guess I really better work."

"I like your legs too much to want you to be a mermaid," Mat replied.

She grinned over at him. "And a seashell would be better?"

"Damn straight I can," Rose teased. "Especially when you're calling me lucky after I lost your money every time I tried..."

Okay, not that she wasn't totally taking the package cause yeah.

"It's not fun if I win all the time," Mat said. "The people in charge get suspicious."

"How many times how you been run out of somewhere for winning too much?" she asked, glancing up at him with a grin.

She pulled the box open and stared. It was one of those things that even Lissa's bank accounts didn't run to. "Holy crap. This is gorgeous. Are you sure?"

"Coin comes easily," Mat said with a shrug. "I fund my own army." He smiled. "I'm sure."

"Thank you," Rose said, leaning in to give him a kiss in thanks. She started to take it out of the box, figuring that sunscreen couldn't hurt it too much. "Wanna help me put it on or tell me about the funding the army part first?"

Oh, it was just a shame to see a woman that fine just sitting there on the beach all alone.

Gunn took it as a personal mission to rescue her from her loneliness. Really.

"You know I have it on good authority the ocean will still be there if you look the other way," Gunn said before taking a sip from a very large drink that apparently is being served in a hollowed pineapple.

"Whose authority is that?" Rose checked, glancing over at him. Fandom kid, way better than random stranger she'd wanna punch.

"Mine. Been watching it all day and it hasn't disappeared once," Gunn replied cheerfully. "And I've looked away several times."

Mostly at girls in bathing suits. He is a guy after all.

"Well aren't we all so important," Gunn joked. "Then again what the hell do I know? I'm just a guy standing on a beach drinking something with rum out of a pineapple."

Rose grinned up at him. "Okay, check for me then. Is the ocean gone? And can I steal a drink of your pineapple thing?"

"Tough being as awesome as me, it's true," Rose agreed, taking a sip. "Ooh, this is awesome, yeah."

"Well see, that's what I like to see," Gunn smirked. "A girl with confidence. And a healthy appetite for rum."

Gunn waved down a waiter from a distance and signalled him to bring another fabulous pineapple concoction.

"Girl, someone as fine as you doesn't need to have a name to have my approval," Gunn said with brazen flirtatiousness. "You just need to have an attitude and big smile."
