Atlantis Resort - Monday [Rooms & Activities]

Monday brought more sunshine and blue skies to the imposing Atlantis resort. The beaches laid open and welcoming, the drinks were fruity, and the people were already milling around in the sun. A thousand bottles of suntan oil popped open - it's the Bahamas, and paradise is just the word of the day. Enjoy yourself.

There was something about the way he added that last word in there, like she'd noticed he tended to do, that made Tahiri feel better about the whole thing.

"I've noticed," she answered quietly. "And I love you for it."

For all of it, really. For loving her, and for not giving up on the other her despite everything -- that meant a hell of a lot.

"So you tell me," Tahiri replied, not really thinking about the fact that she was getting ocean water all over him. "Good thing I believe you."

"I'm very trustworthy," Ben agreed with a tiny smile, not minding in the least that he was getting wet. He nudged his shoulder into hers. "Big plans for the week yet?"

"I hadn't really planned much," Tahiri replied, "but if I know you, you'll want to find the ice cream place."

Wait until she found out it was Ben and Jerry's. She might never stop teasing him.

"All the nightclubs and dancing aren't really that interesting for me, but the restaurants look good."

She had her appetite back. What was bad about that?

"You? Like eating?" Tahiri tried to tug him down onto the beach towel. "Someone alert HoloNet. Everybody ought to know about this shocking twist."

"How much nicer do I have to be?" Tahiri pretended to complain.

"I could always go find my own food," Tahiri retorted, but oh, look, she was reaching up to wrap an arm around his neck and . . . make further verbal comebacks difficult for the next few moments.
