Of course, Victor was using his powers to stick to the seat so he wouldn't get jostled too much, and wished he had to ability to share that power like he did with his blending.

"At least it's only two hours. Do you wanna listen to some music or play a game or something?"

"Anything you want." Walter let the next jostle slide him against Victor and grinned. "How are you staying in place when Pippi and I are sliding around?"

"Powers, remember? I stick to things. I'd stick you, too, but your back's still sore. Unless the lower part's feeling good enough to have my arm back there..."

"It's my upper back that's hurt, so make yourself comfortable."

Looking around, he squinted at the road passing by outside. That really didn't look right.

Like he was going to pass up the opportunity to snuggle with his boyfriend. He wrapped his arm around Walter's waist and used his powers to stick to both the seat and Walter's back, reducing much of the jostling his boyfriend felt. Then, he followed Walter's eyes with a puzzled look. "What's wrong?"

"Look how fast we're going. And if you watch, it's like a jumpy film." It was unsettling, but strangely compelling.

Pippi looked out the window.

"Cool."

*bump*

"Oh... Good thing the hot chocolate is refillable."

"Hmm...yeah, you're right. That's pretty cool!"

Then, he looked at Pippi. "That's probably why. You're...whatever makes you strong is stopping you from getting burned, right?"

Pippi gave this some thought as she thoughtfully licked the hot chocolate from her hands.

"Ya know, I've never thought about it before? I'm not sure if it's related... I just figure I get it from my Papa or Mama."

Victor shrugged and smiled. "Don't worry about it. It's actually really cool to see. It reminds me of Xavier's a little."

"How so?"

"'Cause everyone at the school has powers, so I used to see stuff like that all the time. One time my friend Julian tripped in the cafeteria, and just as he was about to fall he used his teke to hold himsefl and his tray up. It was pretty cool."

Pippi wasn't sure what teke was, but it sounded cool.

"Huh... Neat. Maybe someday you can show me."

"I wish I could, but I don't have telekinesis."

Or at least he didn't think he did. With the secondary mutation that he might be getting soon, though...well, he didn't want to think about that right now.

"No, I mean show me this place where you're from."

"Oh, yeah, I think we could do that. I'd have to clear it with the Institute and get permission from the ~~mods~~ Dean, but all three of us could probably go visit sometime."

Walter watched the landscape jump by and said. "It's funny the things we get from our parents."

Pippi's rucksack opened by itself and Mr. Neilson scrambled out.

"Yes... Here's something else I got from my Papa!"

He hopped up onto the arm of Pippi's chair and tugged on her sleeve until she ordered an extra hot chocolate for him.

"You only get one though, otherwise you're going to get sick."

"Yeah, Mr. Neilson, I'd rather not have monkey barf all over me, if you don't mind."

"I think Mr. Neilson has better manners than that." Walter said as he leaned in against Victor on a particularly sharp turn.

Mr Neilson doffs his hat to Walter for his kind words.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Neilson. I wasn't thinking."

Mr. Neilson forgives Victor, he's a kind and benevolent monkey is Mr. Neilson.

Victor stuck himself to Walter during the turn, but didn't unstick him after it. At least, not yet.

"So, I think we're going too fast to play any games involving street signs or license plates. Anyone got any ideas?"

This would be what was really meant by attached at the hip. Walter shook his head and shrugged, noticing with some relief that neither action was particularly uncomfortable.

"I don't know any travel games, but I wouldn't be surprised if Pippi did."
