LAX Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

The Portalocity Terminal was ready for the influx of former Fandomites it was about to receive. There were banners saying 'Welcome Fandom High', tables of refreshments for folks to enjoy while they waited for the shuttle to the hotel...

... and a lot of children in various degrees of confusion about why exactly they were there.

[no ocd! feel free to meet up with your kids in this post! Disney post #1 will go up in a bit]

Katrina had seen her mother like this before. Clearly there was only one solution:

GLOMP.

Parker now had an eight-and-a-half-year-old hanging off her waist, face nuzzled into Parker's side.

"I see you've met Katrina," Ronan said; he wasn't quite so upbeat about it as he might otherwise be, though. He'd noticed how Parker hadn't turned to face the girl, and wondered why, exactly, that was.

"I said no such thing, by the way."

Parker's arm snaked out around Katrina's shoulders, and she grimaced at the inevitable. "Hi, kid." A squeeze, and then, "So, Dad didn't just offer you ice cream when you got here?" An slight smirk, with a good bit of vulnerability around the eyes. "What was he thinking?"

Had to be Katrina. And that squeeze might look like a hug, now.

It looked rather like a hug, indeed.

"I thought about it," Ronan said, "but I figured it was probably best to come and find you, first."

"Besides, you always buy me ice cream," Katrina added. "And shoes, and clothes, and last time you bought me a purse!"

"You always have to have a purse," Parker said automatically, looking down at her... daughter. Two years since she'd last seen her kids had shown up, and Ben had been smart enough to stay back a little, but this one apparently didn't care about personal space. And last year, she hadn't been there. "Madison wants shoes. We'll have to get some for you too." She laughed a little. "Nice to meet you, kid."

She looked over at Ronan, and mouthed, Thanks.

Your kid, too, Ronan mouthed back.
