Girls With Guns trip [Tuesday afternoon] - Laser Tag!

"Okay," Triela called loudly. "You've got your team assignments, and if you don't you need to talk to me. Every hit you get against someone on the other team is a point. If you get hit then you're safe for fifteen seconds and then your vest turns back on and you're back in. You can't be shot again while you find some cover. The entire mall is the playing area. Your guns won't work outside, so there's no point in cheating. The game lasts ninety minutes. Your vests are programmed to automatically shut down and beep when the time's up. So when that happens you just come back here. Here are your team assignments."

It was entirely possible that Jen, who still had a little bit of ice cream at the corner of her mouth (but please don't tell her that) from class this morning, was spending far too much time inspecting her laser tag gun.

What? If she had faulty equipment she wanted to know about it before the shooting started.

Algren wasn't there to play Tag, really. He was there to make certain that the people who were there to play tag weren't behaving like complete and utter idiots.

And if that just so happened to mean that he somehow wound up with a gun of his own geared up so that he could shoot at anyone he figured was somehow being an absolute moron? Well, so be it.

Naomi had been looking forward to get the chance to do this, so she was rather excited as she waited for the game to start.

Tahiri was . . . not having a fun time getting herself fitted with a laser tag vest.

The first one she grabbed was a large, and there was no way she was running around with a gun for ninety minutes while having to swim in that thing. Mediums weren't any better, and even the small adult size moved around more than she would've preferred.

Having to pick something from the kid sizes never got any less annoying.

Eeee! Green team! Turtle was very pleased with her placement, since it was her favorite color and all, although it was a little annoying to be on the Face-Spitter's team. It would be kind of nice to be able to get him back good for that.

...Ignore that Turtle had technically started it by kicking him. Shh.

Besides, there were loads of fun people to get on Red Team. Mwa ha ha.

Cal could deal with this; enough people on his team that he wouldn't want on the opposing, and at least a few people on the other team he could have too much fun trying to shoot down.

He might even stop pretending he didn't get modern technology in figuring out how the guns worked.

Triela sprinted past the toy store. But something caught her eye and she slammed to a halt and turned around. They had some pretty nice teddy bears in there. And Triela could totally pay attention to them and to her surroundings at the same time.

Algren found himself a spot to hang out in the Atrium, where he could keep an eye on the goings-on around him and in the other areas of the mall most effectively.

And yes, every now and then he was going to fire a completely unwarranted shot at people who happened to come running by. He had to pass the next hour and a half somehow, after all.

She was creeping (barefoot, of course) along a narrow corridor leading to the bathrooms off the atrium, keeping an eye out for Red Team members.

Algren wasn't going to talk about how awesome he was. He was going to just smile, work on catching his breath after being targeted by about half of the students who had come on the trip, and then he was going to take a head-count to ensure that nobody decided they were going to stick around after the rest of the group had left.
