The Crown Princess - Tuesday [Rooms and Lido Deck]

The ship was at sea all day today, but that wasn't going to stop the fun. The sun was still shining brightly in the sky, dousing sunbathers in its heavy rays, and the water looked positively azure along the sides of the boat.

The Lido deck remained open for summer joy, with little umbrellas in every drink.

"Beer, wine..." He waved his hand vaguely. "Whatever doesn't taste like someone got sick in it."

"Well, if you wanna start light, pina coladas are good," he said and the image of Arthur with one of those in hands was a sight to behold. "Jello shots are good. Sex on the beach which is almost topical. Buttery nipples, also good. Amaretto sour. Jager bombs. And those are just mixed drinks."

He thought some more.

"I don't drink a lot of wine but for deer, go for the ales. If it's dark, it's usually better than anything else."

Somewhere halfway into that diatribe, Arthur had started to stare. "Those are names for drinks?" he asked. As private in-jokes between knights, they would have worked, but otherwise? "Is that a joke?"

"Not a joke, I promise," he said, holding up a hand. "I told you, alcoholic drinks in this place are creative. Sometimes, they make sense, sometimes they're just named for fun. If you tell the bartender you want one of those, he'll know what you mean and mix it for you."

Somehow, Arthur doubted that. He just shook his head once, though, and replied, "You would know."

"There's a few things I know very well. One's alcohol," he said. "If you ever get bored, try one of those. If not, stick with ales. And hey, you might even like wine coolers."

Again, such a funny sight to imagine, Arthur with a wine cooler.

If there was any doubt left in his mind that he wasn't to take Hannibal's suggestions at face values... well. "Few is right," he said, never above a cheap shot. "I'll keep those in mind."

"Aw, you haven't lost your charm," Hannibal said, rolling his eyes. "So attractive."

"People find me very charming." Just ask around the gym. Or Merlin's mother.

"I'm sure," he said and smirked. "You've got that untouchable hardass bad boy that is like a magnet for girls."

"So I do." Arthur was an agreeable man. Really. "It is what's expected of me."

"Hey, if you weren't charming, I'd have started ignoring you awhile ago," he said and half smiled. "I'm telling the truth on that part even if I embellish the other parts."

One of Arthur's eyebrows raised. "It's kind of you to say so," he decided. "I'd ignore you if you weren't so utterly ridiculous."

In some languages, that might have even translated to 'you're funny'.

"You make me swoon, Arthur," he said, getting to his feet again. "You should go swimming."

Because, yeah, pretty.

"Good exercise."

He figured that'd be better than saying it'd be hot if Arthur went swimming.

Arthur pursed his lips. "I'll see," he said.

He was trying to figure out why people kept pushing that point.

Because it'd be pretty. People were shallow.

He was shallow.

"No pressure, just a suggestion," he said easily. "See you later, okay? Try a pina colada. You'll like it."

He smiled once more at Arthur before heading back to the hot tubs.
