The Crown Princess - Monday [Ship/Princess Cays, Bahamas]

Early in the morning, the cruise director came over the loudspeaker announcing the port of the day and some on-boat activities of interest. Those paying attention would learn that from 9am until 5pm, the Crown Princess would be docked in the lovely Princess Cays, Bahamas where guests were welcome to participate in glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, or beach excursions for a portion of the day. Adults were encouraged toward the Sanctuary on the Sun Deck for a more private way to relax away from the teens.

John popped out of the water with a grin. "It's a great day, isn't it?"

"You trying to eat my foot or something?" Gavin asked, pushing his goggles up on top of his head.

"Just getting your attention!" John said brightly. "Did you see those little rays? Totally cool stuff."

"Is that what they are?" Gavin asked, peering down at them. "I don't know names and types yet. I just think they're cool to check out."

"I have no clue, but I think I could live here pretty easy," John replied, blowing bubbles in the water with his snorkel.

"This is all new to me," he said, looking around. "I'm used to desert sun and no water. Not ocean sun and tons of water. And it's clear water!"

"So clear. Hopefully that keeps people from abusing it," John said, waggling his eyebrows. Someone should smack the happy off his face.

"We're not making out in the ocean," he deadpanned.

"But I gargled and everything!" John complained immediately.

"Yeah, but I don't know where that mouth's been!" he pointed out. "Could have been eating sand before this."

"No no, remember, you're the sand dweller," John reminded him. "I'm from the planet o'plenty!"

"You're from the planet of pollution," he said. "Sniffing babies diapers, I bet."

"That's right," John nodded. "My family's made a fortune on pollution. It's good stuff." Kidding. Sort of.

"If you say so," Gavin said and tried to splash some ocean water at John's face.

John squirted water at Gavin from his fist in return. "You having a good time with the roomie?"

"Haven't really talked to her much," Gavin admitted. "I got in there yesterday, hung out for a bit and then hit the track. They have a track. On the ship."

"Really? I thought this place was all about the food."

"I think it's all about everything," he said. "This boat might be bigger than Tatooine."

"Definitely nicer, just the seventeen pools alone," John quipped.

"A swamp might be nicer than Tatooine," Gavin retorted.

"You guys and your crazy planets," John shook his head.

"Hey, at least we can go to other planets," Gavin said. "You guys are stuck here."

"Hey, we're happy being stuck here," John said unhappily. "I'm looking forward to a life of flying planes that can't break through the atmosphere. Really."

"Really?" Gavin asked. "You don't wanna see space?"

"Of course I wanna see space," John said, splashing at Gavin. "It's just probably not an option."
