The Crown Princess - Monday [Ship/Princess Cays, Bahamas]

Early in the morning, the cruise director came over the loudspeaker announcing the port of the day and some on-boat activities of interest. Those paying attention would learn that from 9am until 5pm, the Crown Princess would be docked in the lovely Princess Cays, Bahamas where guests were welcome to participate in glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, or beach excursions for a portion of the day. Adults were encouraged toward the Sanctuary on the Sun Deck for a more private way to relax away from the teens.

"The tomato bit or the happy?" Merlin asked, pausing in the knee deep water. His trousers would need to be washed after being in the salt water, but it was worth it.

"The happy," Arthur confirmed. He tossed the seashell at the waves. It went splot in a slightly satisfying way. "As soon as you've got to lie down, you idiot."

"I can sleep on my stomach," Merlin pointed out.

"Can you now." He stretched his legs out.

"Or just stay in the water." That helped ease the faint burn that hadn't quite hit him fully yet.

"You can't stay in the water all your life, Merlin," Arthur said, his brow quirking upwards in amusement. "For one, you've got pears to find for me."

"Did you finish them already?"

"It's hardly my fault that you brought so little."

"Only if you eat nothing but pears," Merlin replied with a sigh.

"You'll just have to bring me some bread as well, next time," Arthur said, ever the reasonable one. "It might go longer."

"Or, we may both go to the feast and you can pick what you like," Merlin suggested. "There was far more than anything that had at the school."

"Now why would I do that," Arthur asked, rhetorically, "If I have a perfectly good manservant to do it for me."

Merlin kicked water at him again. "Because then you'd get berries."

Arthur eyed him and his water-kicking. "Do you really miss the vegetables that much?"

"...a bit, actually," Merlin admitted with a cheeky grin.

"Don't worry, Merlin," he said, "I'll arrange for plenty of time for you to get reacquainted when we make our way home."

"Oh, thank you, my lord. You're too kind!"

"I am," Arthur said, with a nod, and picked up another seashell, "Far too kind, considering your appalling behaviour."

Merlin stopped, looking back at him. He may have even had his hands on his hips. Yes, like a girl. "Which is why you're worth liking, Arthur."

Abruptly, Arthur looked up from his seashell. "Well, that's kind of you," he said, warily.

Merlin just grinned back at him, completely guileless and open for a moment before kicking water toward him again. "You really out to see the things out here. It's like flowers under the water with all the colors."

"Don't go picking anything," Arthur said, shaking his head as he glanced back at the shell.

"It moves before you can get close," Merlin called back, looking back at the reef.

"If there's one thing in this world I don't doubt, Merlin, it's your propensity for getting into trouble regardless of sense."

"And here I thought it was you who never listened," He said, now pushing out to his waist in the water.
