Waves Resort & Spa, Saint James, Barbados [Monday Morning]

Yes, it was a Monday, but it was the first wake-up of the trip. A whole day of sun, breeze, beach, and fun awaited Fandom's guests today. Time to get up and get out there!

"It couldn't have been that strange," she said. She'd also only known him after the amputation, so her view was a bit different.

"He burned the page containing the coordinates of a Spanish treasure galleon so I wouldn't murder him, then tried to give my entire ship food poisoning by lying about knowing how to cook," Flint said.

"I'll allow the food poisoning but you can't blame someone for trying not to get murdered," she said.

"What if I really wanted them dead?" Flint asked with a smile.

You were so worrying, Flint.

"No," Rey said. "Especially when they're that important to me."

"Well, this would have happened before you met him," Flint said like that would be helpful in some way.

"Not any better," she said, shaking her head.

Flint smiled. "That's disappointing."

Rey frowned and noted, "You know he's a hard subject for me to joke about, right?"

Flint's brow furrowed. "I didn't."

"It was a great relationship, as breakups go, it was a good one. I don't hate him," she said.

Flint looked slightly abashed. (He was not great at interactions with people that didn't end up in threats.)

"I apologize," he said stiffly.

"It's all right. You're allowed your feelings. Mine are just... different," she said.

"Aside from the cooking."

Like she didn't contribute to why he never learned.

"Well, you're a logical person," Flint said, "and Silver should stick to gruel."

"You'll be happy to know he learned to skip even that," she said.

"Did he learn about Crock Pots?" Flint asked.

"No, either I did it or we ordered out," she said. "Safer that way."

Flint's lips curled up. "Much. I will miss the Crock Pot."

"Already planning on going back?" Rey asked.

"Eventually," Flint said, letting a handful of sand sift through his fingers. "I have things yet to accomplish."

"Sounds familiar," she said wryly.

"For you or for him?" Flint asked.

"Both," she admitted. "It's a very large part of why I can't hate him."

"He went back with a purpose?" Flint asked, wrinkling his forehead.

He only knew first-season Silver. He'd understand later.

"His you had something to do with it." Welcome to the main reason this was all weird for her. "But yes. It surprised him too."
