Endor [Tuesday, December 30]

Luke, sadly for those who were not, was totally a morning person. As soon as the sun rose above the horizon, he was up, trying to get everyone ready for another day of hut building and bridge hanging.

There was breakfast and really awful strong coffee, and then the hike back to where they'd been working all of yesterday.

Luke would understand if people took breaks to explore today. Three solid days of manual labor is no vacation.

"...huh," Tyler said. Well, he'd injured himself in some weird ways, he supposed robot burns weren't that far into the realm of the weird.

"You were probably right the first time," he said instead. "Grown man. He'll manage." A beat. "And he has Sam."

"And really, it's a very small town. He can't get into too much trouble. Probably." Pause. "And if I have to go to court again, I'm asking for a raise."

Tyler decided this was not the time to remind Pepper that Tony had access to a plane and a flying suit.

"I might do the same, if I have to deal with law enforcement again," he said instead, and never mind that he didn't actually get paid. "But that's why you have Lindsay, right?"

Pepper nodded. "If we didn't have her, I wouldn't have left town at all with him by himself," she assured him, shaking her head ruefully. "You know, I don't think I'll ever have kids, because I already have him."

Tyler considered that for a long moment. It was ... kind of sad, actually. "Um," he said, changing the subject slightly, "so what made you come, anyhow? Building huts for teddy bears doesn't really seem like a typical Pepper Potts hobby."

"Eh, it's a networking opportunity," she said with a shrug. "Besides, I never take vacations. What about you?"

The weird thing was that Tyler liked this woman who used the phrase "networking opportunity" without irony.

"Same kind of thing," he said. "I've never been on another planet before and the chance for time off the island didn't suck."

"Yeah, this is my first time off-planet, too, believe it or not," Pepper admitted with a smile.

"It's my first time for more than an hour or two," he corrected slightly. "I'd been up in spaceships but that's about it."

He glanced around. "It looks kind of like the pacific Northwest."

"With three-foot tall teddy bears," Pepper supplied.

"And a total lack of technology," Tyler added. "But the teddies are weirder."
