Endor [Tuesday, December 30]

Luke, sadly for those who were not, was totally a morning person. As soon as the sun rose above the horizon, he was up, trying to get everyone ready for another day of hut building and bridge hanging.

There was breakfast and really awful strong coffee, and then the hike back to where they'd been working all of yesterday.

Luke would understand if people took breaks to explore today. Three solid days of manual labor is no vacation.

"As long as I don't think about the ski trip I'm missing," she replied. "But in the choice between Stowe or another planet, I have to admit, another planet won out, just on the sheer wow factor."

"Ski trip?" Hurley said. "With your family, I guess?"

Meg nodded. "Yeah, we all pretty much grew up on skis. It's a lot of fun."

"Cool, I never really did much skiing. Or, any really," Hurley said. "I mean, I coulda, if I went to the mountains, but I'm not really... built for graceful sports."

"That's like, sledding, right?" Hurley said.

"Like sledding. But without the ability to steer," Meg explained. "Lots of fun."

"So just... going down a hill on a big tube?" Hurley said with a chuckle. "Sounds fun, yeah."

"Yeah, especially when you start moving at what feels like warp speed," she grinned. "And I mentioned the lack of steering ability. Did I also mention there's no way to stop?"

"So you just wait til you hit something?" Hurley laughed.

"Yeah, that would not be fun," Hurley said. "And ow." He shuddered a second. "You want to grab, like, lunch together?"

"Sure," Meg agreed. "Although somehow I don't think they'll be serving a nice tuna salad."

"Probably not," Hurley said with a laugh. "Maybe some nice... alien peanut butter."

"I'm trying to be open minded, so I'll try just about anything. But if it moves," she shuddered. "All bets are off."

Hurley shuddered too. "The only food that moves I can eat is Jell-o."

"Oh, any," Hurley said. "Though the red ones are better."

"Oh definitely. And blue raspberry. That's pretty good. But orange and green? That's just wrong," Meg grinned.

"Yeah, the green stuff was invented for prisons or something. Had to have been," Hurley joked.
