Luke, a tall golden droid, and the Ewok chief Chirpa, were waiting for the volunteers when the portal finally deposited everyone on Endor. "Welcome," Luke said, giving them all a smile, "and thank you in advance for your help."

He gestured to the Ewok. "This is Chief Chirpa, the leader of Bright Tree Village, where we'll be staying for the next few days." Chirpa bowed to them, then spoke a few words. The droid shuffled forward to translate. "Chief Chirpa welcomes you to Endor," he said, words coming out pinched and precise, "and requests that you make yourself at home. If there is anything he or his warriors can do while you are assisting their neighbors, please let him know."

There was a brief conversation between Threepio and the Chief. "Or tell me and I will convey it," Threepio said. "I am C-3PO, human cyborg relations, and will be serving as translator for you during your stay here. Do watch out for the bugs, and the large drops, and the variety of creatures found in the forest..."

Luke shook his head at him and Threepio stopped speaking. "He worries a little too much," he explained with an easy smile. "If you'll follow me, you can drop off your stuff in the visitors' quarters and we can get started building some huts."

"I will get rid of the two less attractive women," Luke declared, "but a hero has to have some perks."

Said the guy who'd been a monk for six months.

She got to her feet and tossed her hair in true Buffy/Anya/Cordelia style. "Iiiiiii should be enough of a perk for you."

Luke pretended to think this over. "Hmmmm. Maaaybe."

"Maaaybe????" She stamped her foot. "Just for that, I'm going to play hard to get."

"You'll come around," Luke said loftily. "They all do."

That did it. Dawn snorted, then covered her nose and mouth as she burst out laughing.

He cocked up an eyebrow. "Too much Lando, huh."

"Maybe just a bit, and I don't even know Lando."

"Lando's the smoothest operator in the galaxy," Luke said. "Just ask him. He's also a general in our military."

"You're not the smoothest? I'm so very, very shocked."

"I'm a close second," Luke lied.

Dawn looked suitably impressed. Really. "So, you going to show me around? I'm all kinds of ready to help improve your image."

Yes, because rolling around on the ground and tickling each other was obviously proof of that.

Luke reached for her hand. "Of course," he said, tugging her along. "Look! Trees!"

"Oooooooooooooh," Dawn said, craning her head back to look and completely ignoring anything that might be at her feet.

Luke steered her around a giant tree stump. "Also rocks," he said. "Endor's not really that exciting. If you go that way about five klicks, you'll find the ruins of the old Imperial garrison."
