Friday: Nemesis Island

The island across the causeway hadn't gotten any more inviting overnight. Occasionally, you could almost distinguish a blood-curdling howl mixed in with the noises of the birds that seemed to be everywhere.

Nemesis laid proudly in the dark. It was open to all who dared to go there.

But it would not let them go easily.

Like the preserve at Fandom but the woods are dark. The trees are twisted, gnarled and barely any light enters it.

The Park

It's not exactly a place you want to stay and ponder. The grass is dead and the playground is old and rusted. The pond is covered with some kind of green sludge and it looks like something large lurks below.

There was a bored Darkonda in the park. He had found that there was only so much plotting to take over the universe that he could do before he grew tired of it. Besides it was much more fun actually putting those plans into action but since he would have to take Dark Spectre out first before he could administer those plans to begin with there wasn't much point in plotting.

Lion-o couldn't resist wandering around the other island. He liked exploring places where he shouldn't me. As usual, Snarf tagged along with him, stopping every few minutes to suggest that they go back.

Spotting Darkonda, Lion-o smiled and politely said, "Hello. Do you live on this island?"

The bad feeling Anakin had had yesterday exploded into full-blown danger sense as soon as he stepped foot onto Nemesis Island. He kept his hand down by his lightsaber hilt as he began tracking some incredibly strong Force signatures. He knew his name was down to duel tomorrow, he just didn't know who.

And there was a pretty extensive list of beings with lightsabers who might be interested in taking a shot at him, after all.

Darth Vader had been out for his daily stalk around the island when he caught the presence of someone who glowed in the Force.

A presence he knew all too well.

Just when he thought his self-loathing couldn't reach new depth he got to meet himself.

Vader hated this island.

"Skywalker," he growled, stepping out from behind a tree.

Jaina didn't like this place at all, which sort of meant she wanted to know what it was all about. That was why she was here today, trying to shake off the unsettled feeling as she did some exploring.

She liked Fandom's park better.

Despite being completely removed from the Force himself, Caedus sensed another presence as he strode through the park, his black cape billowing behind him. He had more important matters to attend to: namely locating his nemesis, Luke Skywalker.

Tahiri drifted over to the other island, restless and in need of something to keep her mind off more depressing trains of thought.

Looking around the park in its general state of decay, it occurred to her that this wasn't her best idea. By a long shot.

This morning's broadcast had Ned curious about the pie shop on the other island so, after psyching himself up, he'd made the trip over there and cautiously peered at the building.

Going inside was going to take more psyching up.

Like most nights, tonight found Perdita completely plastered and dancing lewdly on the bar. The little voice in the back of her mind was horrified and ashamed of her, as usual, but that just made it all the more sweet.

Tony had heard too many stories about the moving island during orientation not to check the new place out. He crossed over to the other island after lunch and entered the wax museum.

When Dick Grayson was exploring a mysterious evil island, you could be sure that something with "the Criminally Insane" would be at the top of his list of places to visit.

At least it wasn't Arkham, right?

Anyway, Dick was done with classes for the day, so he had all afternoon to see what was up around here. He felt like he should've brought more gear with him just to be safe, but if he couldn't make his way around an island in the middle of the afternoon without anything more than smoke pellets to facilitate possible escapes, then he needed to go back to Gotham for more training.
