Each villa offers breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and Nihiwatu Beach, their own plunge pools, personal staff, living areas and kitchens. You don’t have to leave your villas all week! You can have meals served at your villas, too, but if you’d like to mingle with more than just your cohort, Nihi offers three world-class restaurants, a large pool, and some of the most spectacular beach-front property in the world.

Ombak

The hub of dining activity is the main, sandy-floored Ombak (meaning wave front) restaurant and bar lounge. Ombak, an exquisitely crafted open-air restaurant, offers a la carte breakfast each morning.

The large outside deck, cantilevered over the ocean, offers relaxed lounge seating.

Nio Beach Club and Pool

Just bare footsteps from the sea, the Nio Beach Club offers open-aired pavilions serving the highest quality of fresh ingredients: whether it is a fish just caught from sea, delicious vegetables and legumes from our three abundant organic gardens, items from the grill, daily rotisserie, or freshly made pizzas from our wood fired clay oven, the chef and his team will satiate your appetite with delicious, healthy dishes. And the pool looks like this. It’s worth leaving your villa.

The Beach

2.5 kilometers of white sand beach that looks like it’s never been stepped on until you came along. Get a fruity drink and a tan!

Kite Surfing

In addition to regular surfing, the resort offers kite surfing lessons! Everyone take a moment to be grateful Beaker graduated.

Snorkeling

The reef in front of the resort has a beautiful wall that extends past the channel and is full of colorful coral and marine life.

Blue Waterfall Trek [all day]

Stunning vistas as you descend into the Wanukaka Valley are a highlight of this 45-minute drive to Matayangu, the Blue Waterfall. After parking at the start of the trail, we begin a 1h30 trek led by local guides through the pristine Indonesian National Park to the blue lagoon at the base of the waterfall, where one might spot wildlife such as the long-tailed Macaques, reticulated pythons, the Nusa Tenggara fly catchers, and Citrus Crested Cockatoos.

As the trail emerges from the jungle, the sheer size and scale of the waterfall basin is truly worth the walk. While you soak in your surroundings, guides will set up a picnic for a leisurely snack. You can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and swimming in this beautiful setting before trekking back to the vehicle. We recommend packing a sarong, swimsuit, extra shirt, sunscreen, camera, and sturdy shoes.

Graham couldn't explain exactly why, but he just felt oddly compelled to pursue the waterfall trek that day. Not that he was complaining, this trek was awesome!

And the other two were a bit trickier, what with the whole 'not knowing how to swim' thing. He should really work on fixing that....

Sidon did feel that being amphibious on this one was kind of cheating, but also, if you got it? Flaunt it!

Once more, Sakaki's activities were entirely determined by her readily-avaiable icons for the activity, but that was fine. She enjoyed looking at all the bright colors and fish.

Jo didn't like the idea of any of the other water themed activities so she thought the waterfall trek sounded like the safer option, even if there would be swimming later on.

She also thought this would be a good chance to take some really good photos for her photography class so she was taking as many photos as she could while trying to keep up with the group.

Even though he did quite enjoy wind surfing, Cutter had never been kite surfing before so he decided to try his hand at something a bit different and see how this one compared.

Alara decided to try her hand at snorkelling, which was something that she had never tried before but she loved the water and she was enjoying looking at all the different coral and marine life.

Yesterday's windsurfing lesson had been moderately successful- they had gotten around to the actual lesson eventually....But Connor was keen to learn more. And really? How different could kite and wind surfing be? (a lot Connor OMG).

Guillermo had been tempted to spend the day at the beach like he had handwavily done yesterday but he decided to try something different and go on the waterfall trek.

He was struggling quite a bit with the walk but the views were definitely making up for it and he was more or less keeping to the group as well, he wasn't falling too far behind which he was rather pleased about.

"Ready for the next surfing challenge?" he asked, "even though this time I'm a little out of my element, I've never done Kite Surfing before," he admitted.
