Boston, Massachusetts [Friday Daytime]
Normally Friday is a great day, but this week it means the amount of break time is dwindling, so now is your chance to get all the fall break fun in that you can! The weather was still cool and sunny, and there was plenty to do!
Bow Market
Re: Bow Market
Re: Bow Market
In any case, this looked like a good spot to pick up a few local trinkets for herself. Maybe do a little early Christmas shopping. (Any excuse to shop, honestly.)
Re: Bow Market
"Irene," she said. "Anything in particular managing to catch your eye?"
Re: Bow Market
She'd just need to locate one that wasn't specifically a painting of a stadium or a university or a donut shop she didn't care about.
"You?" She dropped her voice confidentially, simultaneously raising her brows. "Is the craftsmanship up to your standards?"
Re: Bow Market
"For the most part," said Amaya, as if she couldn't actually wind up spending all day sorting through all the this-and-that at that Bandana place or inspecting the finer work in the jewelry shop. "Almost enough to make me wonder if what this place isn't missing is a good metalworkers, though..."
It was all very nice, sure, but it gave off the feeling that niche could line up nicely with pricey. And it wasn't like her schtick back in Fandom wasn't niche all its own...
Re: Bow Market
Seriously, that was where the money was.
Re: Bow Market
Oh, sure, Summer, set her up with an Instagram, but not an Etsy? For shame.
Re: Bow Market
"It's an app." Or, well, you could also just visit the website but who did that anymore? Irene, at least, found it so much easier to just pull out her phone and find the app with a couple of swipes, as she was doing now to show Amaya. "Specifically to sell handmade goods. It's like all this --" she gestured around at the market, "but people all over the world can order things! You'd probably make a killing doing e-commerce, love, honestly. 'Specially with the holidays coming on."
Re: Bow Market
Even if now Amaya was wondering if Summer had done her dirty by not mentioning an app to help her make money.
Consider her intrigued.
"I do like to make a killing," she noted, "especially around the holidays."
Which, around here, meant constantly, because there was a holiday for pretty much anything! But she knew the big ones were coming up...
Re: Bow Market
And also maybe tickling her brain about maybe one say upgrading to a place like this with a bit more foot traffic than their odd little island, although the market for swords beyond curiosity and collections was probably even less out here on the mainland...
...but still! They did seem to enjoy their rustic and their vintage! And you didn't get much more of either than with Amaya...

Re: Bow Market
Thus she wasn't in the best of moods, but finding a stall which sold jewelry and finding a small brooch improved it, although now she was nervous instead, trying to picture Breq's reaction if she were to actually give it to her. She still wasn't quite convinced by Hannibal's suggestion.
