Goooood morning Fandom! The weather is lovely this Thursday and you've still got two full days to enjoy that nigh-incomprehensible accent and those impossible-to-navigate streets. Not to mention the obnoxious sports fans in Bruins jerseys, now that the hockey season is officially underway! Or you could avoid all that and venture a little further afield on one of today's planned excursions. The choice, as always, is yours.

HOTEL

We're spending the week at the five-star/five diamond Boston Harbor Hotel. Hotel luxuries include a private health-club style spa and fitness center, award-winning dining, and a full-service 34-slip marina.

ROOMS [10/14]

Students' deluxe rooms have windows out over downtown Boston, and their chaperones' premier rooms have views out over the marina and into Boston Harbor. The rooms come equipped with all the amenities and two full beds or one king depending on which is funnier.

Well, you definitely won't starve this week, even if you never leave the hotel. Rowes Wharf Sea Grille offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with both indoor and outdoor seating. Its afternoon tea is also extremely popular. You can also go for drinks and snacks at the Rowes Wharf Bar starting at 4pm. The bar is one of the 44 best hotel bars in the world, which is an extremely specific number. Or you can stay up in your room and order in.

AMENITIES [10/14]

Whether its the 60-foot lap pool, the Pelaton bikes and yoga classes you're all dying to try out, or the spa, the hotel has your fitness needs covered. The gym is open 24 hours, which is very helpful for you insomniac health nuts.

Gym - Early Morning

Yes Goose was in fact still at the gym and no he was still wide awake and was showing no signs of tiredness as he powered through a continuous work out session. Goose was rather oblivious to the stares he was getting though, it was rather a sight to see a 7 foot tall hyper active Supertrooper go through a workout.

Alara was back at the gym for her early morning session before she embarked on her sightseeing for the day. She was going to miss having access to this equipment when it was time to return to Fandom.

Though today might be the day he cut the weights and treadmill abuse down to finally hit that pool. You're welcome, anyone with eyes.

EXCURSIONS

Go, run free throughout Boston! The hotel will provide a car if you choose to go out on your own, and the school has arranged a few different excursion choices every day. Today you have two options that take you out of town: apple picking and a foliage tour.

Honey Pot Hill Orchards for Apple Picking

Pick yourself a peck. Or a half-bushel. Currently picking: Empire, McIntosh, Mutsu, Macoun, Red Delicious, Cortland, and Gala apples. There's also a range of other apple varieties as well as pears, squash, and pumpkins for sale in the farm store, if you need even more fresh produce. Look, baggage limits are less of an issue when you're using portals, go crazy.

Alara had never gone apple picking before and while she considered the foliage tour she thought apple picking sounded like fun. She was definitely using her strength to her advantage and had already amassed a large collection of apples. She hadn’t figured out what she was going to do with all of them but she was enjoying the picking aspect of it.

Considering he was already starting to feel quite a bit cramped due to the accomidations on this trip, Sidon, depsite a good deal of confidence in his constitution, did not think he would do well on the significantly longer trip up to New Hampshire on a bus....but the trip out to the apple orchard seemed quite possible, and, besides, once there, there was more than enough space for him to stretch out and enjoy all the apple picking!

Why, he could even reach the top of the trees without needed a ladder!

Museum of Science

In case all the history-related nerdery wasn't enough for you, check out the Museum of Science. Where there's... more history nerdery, but also exhibits that focus on biology, engineering, mathematics, geography... not to mention an insect conservatory and the live animal care center! Even though it seemed most people were likely to go on that foliage tour, Amaya was more than willing to bite the bullet and be the chaperone that stuck around Boston and hit up the science museum, because you'd better believe, science was much more interesting to look at than leaves, and she was fairly certain anyone who'd pick leaves over science was a bit off in the brain!

It probably helped that Amaya didn't exactly come from a place where science was really a thing, which was a shame because it was amazing and fascinating, but there was definitely no lack of leaves in her life back home in Daventry!

There was a good chance that Amaya was going to be even more engaged and enraptured with the exhibits than most of the kids could ever be.

The science museum had sounded interesting so that was where Stark had headed today, just to see what it was like.

And then he found out there was a planetarium, and a show about 'exoplanets' and he was very curious about that.

If he was keeping up a very quiet running commentary about things that were wrong, under his breath, who could really blame him?

Someone had needed to get out of the hotel room before he started writing on the walls or something else bizarre. Someone was Five, obviously, and since Belle was stuck sharing a room (which still had only one bed!) with him for 2 more days and nights she had taken it upon herself to make sure he had something to occupy himself with for a few hours. The science museum seemed like the best option today.

"There's bound to be something in here to interest you," she said.

Sure, the Otherworld had things like cell phones, and electricity, and cars, but the reason why all of those things worked there had always been 'magic'. That wasn't the case here in the First World, so what better way than the science museum to learn about the way things did work?

Foliage Tour

Look kids, leaves! Look--more leaves! New Hampshire leaves, which are much better or at least further away. This trip takes the whole day--you get back after dinner--and gets its own OCD. Oooh.
