Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine Feet Below Fandom, Thursday

Since no new people had arrived yesterday and a considerable dent had collectively been made in the liquor stock of the Devil's Nest... was it really a new day? Had time really moved forward?

Sure, there was a larger divot in the ceiling now that there were much more people chipping away at the rock, but... had time really moved on?

Luckily the cure for existential dread is alcohol.

Were there any? WHO KNEW?

There was. In the form of Alara who had managed to sneak into the
compound only to have fallen in a hole when she was in there.

It took her a moment to realise what had happened and she stared up in the direction she’d fallen from where she was sprawled on the ground.

"Hey, you okay?" Rey checked, coming over to her.

“I think so,” Alara managed after a moment, scrambling to pull herself so that she was at least sitting up.

"Well, welcome to the hole," Rey told her. "Sorry. I'm Rey."

“Oh,” Alara said, glancing back up again and somewhere she vaguely recalled a memory of being trapped and that same prickle of fear but it only fleeting, “Um ….I mean I’m Alara, hi,” it came out in a bit of a rush and she winced at how awkward that sounded.

"Hi. How'd you end up down here?" Rey asked, offering her a hand to help her up.

Dwight was killing time that day by sitting near the campfire. In his hands was a guitar he had found in the music shop, and not knowing what else to do with himself at that moment he decided to see how much he could remember. It might have been a few years since he last picked up a guitar let alone played but his fingers soon found their rhythm again and he was strumming away and enjoying himself.

Oh, good, Beaker had a lighter again. And what was no doubt a stupidly expensive designer tie around his hair like a Woodstock attendee."

"MEEPMEEP!"

Maybe Dwight knew Freebird? Or had been down in the hole long enough to speak Meep?

Dwight looked up and sighed... oh THAT was not good. I mean at least he wasn't climbing in cannons again but still... Dwight knew enough that Beaker and fire were not a good mix.

"Hey Beaker, how about you give me the lighter? Wouldn't want anything to happen to that spiffy tie you got there" he tried, hoping to avoid an absolute disaster.

"Meep meep meep mee!" Beaker said, cuddling his lighter closer. Get your own, Dwight! Steal it from a pirate!

Well... at least the lighter was closed right now, so that was good. Dwight glanced around, making sure the bucket of water to douse the fire when needed was still sitting nearby.

"Meep meep meep mee?" Beaker said, pointing to the guitar.

What songs can you play? Beaker could sing a mean Danny Boy.

It was getting harder to find new things to do at this point, which meant at least that Rey was doing a lot of work on the would-be hole back up.

And the loose rocks were becoming an issue, so Rey has spent a good amount of time loading up a rickshaw with rocks just to take up time... and realized that maybe people needed the use of the rickshaws Steve had brought down than she did.

So she'd marked a start and end points at a stretch of clearing with rocks and set up two rickshaws at the start.

Races, anyone?
