Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Feet Below Fandom, Monday
Guess what, y'all! There's a bar here now! Why, the hole was practically swimming in coping mechanisms things to do!
. . . Was it still day drinking if there was no external marker of time passing other than people and things falling through the ceiling?

Re: Life in the hole - the Devil's Nest ax range
Not a lot of need to bust down a door with an ax when your hands would generally do the trick.
Re: Life in the hole - the Devil's Nest ax range
He was teasing. (Though he did kind of love it. It had a certain campy charm.)
Re: Life in the hole - the Devil's Nest ax range
Annie was well aware she was being teased, and he got an exaggerated curtsey in return. It was honestly kind of a great uniform, even if her tights had a run, now. "I was on my way to New York for a thing when the hole got me."
Re: Life in the hole - the Devil's Nest ax range
. . . Well. At least they'd stopped just hitting the floor.
"I really wonder sometimes why anyone even lives in Fandom."

Travis raised his eyebrows, impressed. "Ah. I guess that makes sense. If you like people and all." He liked to pretend to be a misanthrope from time to time. "I stay for the people, too. But more to keep all you people from burning this whole town to the ground." He looked around. "Or -- burning it under the ground, these days, I guess."
Re: Life in the hole - the Devil's Nest ax range
To be fair, she herself had set (and put out!) two fires, in recent memory.
(One had been an accident, okay?)

A pause.
"I mean, Steve might be doing something with explosions to get us out of here." There was that.

Eventually. The explosives were coming from Annie's universe in the next couple of days, but time was hard to keep track of down here.
"And he'd probably take whatever he can get," she added. "It's pretty -- desperate, up there."

Re: Life in the hole - the Devil's Nest ax range
Well, there were a few, dumber plans past the explosives one, but now that Annie had slept, she was reconsidering how useful those suggestions had been, in hindsight.
Re: Life in the hole - the Devil's Nest ax range
Sorry, Annie, he’d been down here for weeks and his people skills were atrophying way faster than his judginess.

She adjusted her grip on her ax, holding it up to demonstrate. "Try holding it like this. And keep your arm loose." And with that, she deftly hit the target again, this time right in the center.
The superhero thing helped a lot, for the record.
