Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine Feet Below Fandom, Sunday

Well, they were still here on day... something something. Time was hard to figure out without sunlight.

And more people were still arriving, but hopefully people up top were getting close to figuring it out. Especially now that there was some bit of communication between here and here.

But for right now,it was another day of random pirates, random space ships, and starting to think bowling fashion could be the hot new trend. Though that might just be Alexis. Isolation did terrible things to the mind.

"I've played this never," Silver said. "So you're ahead of me."

"It's easy," she told him. "You're either stripes or you're solids, and your goal is to get whichever you are into the hole before the other person. And not get the white ball in there."

"Seems simple enough," he said. "Doesn't mean I'll be any good at it, but still."

"I'm not good at it, either, so don't worry," Rey smiled, setting the rack aside and going to get a cue stick. "Do you want me to go first or do you want to jump right in?"

"It's best if I learn by example," he said, waving his hand. "You go first."

"All right, you just like the white ball up like this..." she said, then leaning over to shoot and scatter the balls all over the table.

None went in, but a couple stripes were close to some holes.

"Nice," he said, even if he had no idea if that was a good shot or not. "My turn. Don't laugh if this is terrible."

He grabbed his own cue and lined up a shot. The hit was a little weak but, hey, some of the balls moved.

"Not bad," she told him, walking around the table to see her best angle for an easy shot. "See, it wasn't terrible."

"Not terrible," he agreed. "So whoever gets all their colors in first wins, right?"

"That's right," she said, leaning forward to sink a striped ball. "So I'm stripes, you're solids. And because I got that in, I get to go again."

"Are you just making that rule up?" he joked.

"I am not," she laughed. "If I wanted to cheat there are much better ways to do that."

"Oh I'm sure the Force would be very helpful here," he agreed.

"But I'll be good," she told him, missing her next shot. "Even though it would help me a lot."

"You don't need anymore help, you've already got a ball in." Silver did get his next shot in...but it was a striped ball. Whoops.

"What does that mean?"

"I'm pretty sure you just scored me a point," Rey told him. "So thank you for that."

Silver groaned. "You're welcome. Do I at least get to go again?"

Technically, he had scored. So...

"Sure. I'm giving like that," she teased.

"Don't worry, I'll waste it." Silver walked around the table to line up another shot.

To his own surprise, he actually managed to sink one. One of his own, even!

"Oh, I see how it is," Rey laughed.

"That was a complete accident," he assured her. He bent down to take another shot. "When did you play this the last time?"

"Duke showed me, around the time I got back to Fandom," she said, and don't mind her if she checked him out a little. "I think I did that instead of going to homecoming."

"Homecoming is a dance, right?" He vaguely remembered that from last fall. "I think you made the right choice."

Silver sighed as he missed his next shot. "Knew that luck wasn't going to last long."

"You'll get another turn," she told him, finding a good spot to lean over for a shot. "I never did the dance thing. I wasn't really social aside from knowing Summer, so I knew I'd just stand there."

"I would do the same thing at a dance," he said, leaning against his cue. "Pool seems more fun."
