Osaka, Japan - Sunday Afternoon - Evening

Osaka might not have been a tropical paradise, but temperatures hovered around a tolerable 60 degrees Fahrenheit and the skies were clear. The city was bustling, and would remain so well into the evening; as for Team Fandom, they were guided through the streets of the city to the traditional temple lodgings of Waqoo Shitaderamachi.

Welcome to the Waqoo Shitaderamachi, a traditional temple lodging open to the public. The owners have tried to make this a tranquil, quiet space for you all to relax - there are even Zen meditation lessons available by a priest from a nearby temple. Or perhaps you'd like to try some Buddhist cuisine?

Rooms

This is a temple lodging, so quarters are pretty sparse, with tatami floors and typical Japanese-style beds - some with twin beds, some with a double. Just the one or two beds, though. Not that is going to be a problem, since you're all two to a room. ... except for those guys. Enjoy your single room, guys!

So, Summer had had a weekend, and to say that she was looking forward to a vacation in a place where the chances of becoming an empress to a parasitic alien race were slim was an understatement. Sure, following this weekend, this trip was sure to have it's own little bumps and bruises, but for right now, she was just going to not think about them. For now, she was just going to find her room, fall over backwards on the bed, stare at the ceiling for a moment, and then close her eyes.

She'll get to chaperoning soon. She'll get to dealing with the room switch soon (even if she was thinking of asking to postpone it for at least tonight). She'll get to everything soon, she just needed to take a moment and just try to not think about anything at all.

(Even if she was mostly thinking she should text Annie, mostly with how rude it was for her to totally be on a different vacay rn, omg).

Maybe she should just spend the day in the meditation center. No one would bother her if they just thought she was meditating the whole time, right?

After leaving Summer's room, Rey headed next door to set her things down and actually check the room out.

She was used to pretty sparse lodgings, this was great for her, honestly.

Anakin was unpacking his stuff (all browns and blacks, naturally) and stretching out a bit in his room he was sharing with only one roommate, feeling very pleased with himself for no reason at all.

This was incredible, and Alexis was absolutely looking forward to this trip and being able to have a place to like, get zen and everything.

She took her time unpacking so nothing got wrinkled, and wondered how amenable her roommate would be to a scrunch or-on-the-door-handle system for potential sexiling.

There were definitely two beds in this room, thankfully. Apparently whatever power thought it would be funny to stress poor Elli out by making her room with the girl with the mountain cat again drew the line at making them all share a bed.

Restaurant

Not a traditional restaurant per se, the Waqoo Shitaderamachi offers traditional Buddhist cuisine made by Buddhist principles. If you don't like it, well, there's always the children's menu, where they dump a bunch of extra stuff on your food so you can pretend it's steak or something.

Hannibal was happy to be back in Japan, the room notwithstanding, and his first stop was the restaurant. He took a moment to simply look at the food, appreciating it, before he began eating. He struck up a conversation with the server about the preparations and passed a pleasant (if unfortunately meatless) meal.

He'd work his way up to exploring areas other than the grounds here, eventually. For now he was content to have a dinner here.

Sitting Meditation

Take a meditation cushion and let the local priest guide you through a zazen lesson in one of the multifunctional halls in the building.

A meditation room? That was unexpected. Still upset, to put it mildly, about the accommodation, Seivarden was reminded of how Medic had suggested she use meditation as a help to deal with emotional issues.

She had tried. She was really bad at it. Peeking inside the room she felt a little bit of guilt at that failure.

"Oh fuck it, I'm on vacation. I need tea."

At least it wasn't 'I need a drink' anymore.

She closed the door and headed towards the entrance hall.

Stark had some misgivings about being somewhere new but the lodging was crowded and currently somewhat ridiculous so he was exploring the grounds.

Meditation, honestly, was something he ought to do more of in general. And they were at a temple. It was really no surprise he found himself in this room on a cushion, listening to the priest.

Osaka

But why stay inside for the evening when you could be going out in Dotonbori, Osaka's bright heart? Stroll along the canal, gape at all the massive billboards, and then nip inside of a bar or restaurant for a drink and a bite. Try some pufferfish, or maybe a nice local kebab.

Spa World

You're not going to find a lot of luxury at the temple lodgings, but for who just wants to unwind and get pampered, Spa World is there for all your hot tub needs.

Umeda Sky Building

The Umeda Sky Building with its twin towers and magnificent walkway is one of the city's biggest landmarks. Take the elevator up to the Floating Garden Observatory and marvel at those views.

Walk Around Town

Sure, it's getting late, but the city won't go to sleep for a while yet. Go find a nice restaurant somewhere else, or do the tourist thing and poke at vending machines, like that 50 yen one over there that spits out drinks at random, or a Gashapon machine full of action figures. The city is here for you.
