Athens, Thursday Morning

That morning, the school packed up on Zakynthos and hopped into a portal, en route to Athens.

Too bad someone hadn't checked the itinerary.

The sun shone high in the sky and you could still hear the surf in the distance, that was the difference. But all you needed to do was see one donkey cart and realize: you were far away from home.

Welcome to Athens, sometime before 400 B.C.

"I had a classical education," Tony replied, poking him in the shoulder. "My Latin is better than my Greek, though."

"You're just sad we're not somewhere they speak Gaelic," he teased, skirting around a little grouping of people to find a less occupied place to bathe.

"Next trip?" Steve replied teasingly. "Ancient Ireland. Bet it smells amazing."

Tony snorted, elbowing him gently for that. "Could be worse. You could get mistaken for Apollo and dragged away from me to be worshiped."

"I really hope that isn't a possibility," Steve said fervently.

"Try not to act godly to be safe." Tony was just cruel to even introduce that possibility out into the world.

"How does someone act godly?" Steve hissed. "Thor's my only guide!"

Well, and Loki, but "not taking over the world" was always on Steve's list of don'ts.

"My hero," he replied in a teasing little sing-song, tugging on Steve's arm to get into one of the large baths.

"So we just sit here with all of these other people and soak?" Steve asked.

"Seems to be the thing," Tony replied dryly. "We can go back to the room if you're not comfortable with it, though."

With the tiny everything and the buckets for toilets.

Steve burst out laughing. "I can picture him in here," he said. "It works for him. Might be the only place with the right proportions for the guy."
