Limni Keri, Zakynthos, Wednesday Evening

The sun had sunk low behind the horizon and the temperatures had dropped a little, but Keri was lovely even at night. Crickets chirped and the sea washed across the shore, but otherwise this night was quiet. And calming.

"Sabine!"

Because of course Prompto would find the party. And of course he would narrow in on his friends when he saw them there, grinning wide, one hand saluting her in a finger-gun wave, the other wiggling his phone almost threateningly.

"Party selfie??"

"Sure, why not," she said. She was also not a selfie person, but she was at least getting used to him with the pictures, so she could smile pretty for it.

"Sweet!" said Prompto, ducking in close to get a shot with the both of them, flashing a peace-sign at the camera as he expertly snapped the picture with his other hand, grinning at the results and showing it to Sabine for her approval before adding it to the file to send Noctis later to make him all jealous and shit. "Pretty good one, huh? Having a good time?"

"Yeah," she said, but looked a little unsure about it. "I don't go to many parties, but this is pretty good. I like the music a lot."

She'd probably been to a party before? Maybe?

"How about you?"

"Oh, man, this place is great !" Prompto gushed, beaming, because he just had not been able to gush enough so far. "I got to see dolphins yesterday! Dolphins! Have you ever seen dolphines?? And my roommate has a dog . But, hey, if you see Nina, don't tell her you saw me, 'cuz she gave me an assignment and I might have not exactly totally followed through on it. Yet. I will! But I don't want her thinking I'm slacking off."

"I'm not sure I know her, so you're good there," she assured him. Someday she would meet Nina and... a reaction would be had, of some sort. "What was the assignment?"

"I need to meet Nell," Prompto explained, "and get a pic of her, so that I can send it to Vette, so that Vette doesn't tackle her. I think in case she's wearing some of Vette's clothes? Which are also Nina's clothes? Some of the deets are a little..." He wiggled a hand in the air, "Fuzzy?"

And if Sabine had met Nina, she would probably not be surprised.

Sabine nodded, taking that in.

"So Vette wants to know Nina's wearing her clothes so she's not surprised?" she guessed.

"I think," Prompto tilted his head, rubbing his chin speculatively, "it's more so that Vette knows who Nell is so she's not all ready to throw down if she sees some rando wearing all of her-slash-Nina''s clothes, or something."

Again. Very fuzzy. It wasn't easy navigating through all that punctuation.

"Okay, Nell," she said, letting that click into place. "So Nina lent Nell clothes and wants to make sure Vette doesn't think someone stole her stuff, even though it'd probably be easier just to tell Vette about this?"

...She shouldn't be this relieved to get that.

Honestly, this could be wrong, but she was sticking with this.

"Yes," said Prompto, after a moment, holding out a finger almost as if to contest something, but, no, that sounded right, and he nodded. But then said, "Maybe? Probably. I'm sure she told Vette, too, but the pic is supposed to be extra...assurance, or something."

He shrugged. If someone was going to give him an assignment that required to meet a new person and take pictures, he was mostly just going to take it and run with it.

"So your roommate has a dog, huh?" Sabine said.

Smart move, Sabine.

"Yes," Prompto's face split into a grin. "His name's Dark Nation, he's the best dog ever," but he did say that about every dog he met, "and he's pretty much my new best friend. But that might just be because of all the treats he's been getting. And the belly rubs. And the ear scritches."

It was amazing how much one person could spoil someone else's dog in such a short amount of time. And Rufus didn't even seem to mind!

"I've only ever met one dog," she admitted.

And he'd be Sabine's favorite because he was rainbow-colored, and that spoke to her.

"I only met one before I came here," Prompto offered with a note of understanding. "And now I work with a ton of them! The one I met was injured when I found her, but I nursed her back to health. Turns out she belonged to the Oracle! And that's how I became friends with a former princess."

Sort of. She'd written him one letter. He still had that letter. Which wasn't creepy at all, shut up! It was a letter from the Oracle! Kind of a big deal.

"What's the dog you met like?"

Prompto Argentum, comes for the party, stays for the puppers.

"He's Kanan's dog," she said. "He's white, with colored spots?" Of course, she didn't know this wasn't normal. She just thought it was awesome.

"I...don't think I know Kanan," Prompto admitted after he took a moment to think about it. "But I'm thinking if he has a dog, I should definitely know him. What color are the spots?"

"Everything," she said, shrugging. "It looks like I painted him. Which I did not."

Should put that out there.

"Everything?"

Prompto had to meet this dog.

"...did someone else paint him?"

"It's not paint, I know that much," she said. "I think it's just who he is."

"Awwwwww!" Definitely finding this dog, yes. And, hey, he should be easy to spot, too! "I bet he's ah-dorable. You should really meet more dogs, though, Sabine. They're great. We got a ton of them at the animal shelter. If you come in while I'm working on Friday, maybe I can get you the V.I.P. fully loaded puppy experience."

Which would also be exactly the same no matter which day she came in, considering the rest of the staff, buuuuut...

"I'm sure I should be able to swing by at some point," she said thoughtfully.!

Fridays were busy for her. But... puppies.

Puppies!

And so it would seem, the puppy pushee was now the puppy pusher.

They grow up so fast.

"That's be great. They seriously love all the attention they can get."
