Akumal Beach Resort - Friday

You'd think warmth and sun would get boring.  But...really, no.

The day was gorgeous, the water was sparkling, and there were buses ready to take the students and chaperones on the short half hour trip to the ancient Mayan ruins at Tulum.

Did I mention there was warmth and sun?

"The students behaving themselves so far?" asked Mike as he ordered a Virgin Mary from the bartender. It was too early in the day for him to hit the hard stuff.

"Sokka decided to be a rebel by drinking a non-alcoholic drink in front of me," Kerrigan replied, sparing Mike not even a glance. "Otherwise, it's-- calm. Ish."

"That's good," said Mike. "I had a little trouble last night in the casino disco. A guy with a ponytail was drinking margaritas and making a fool of himself. He said his name was Weasley. I sent him back to his room unless he could prove he was old enough to drink, and when I got back to my room, I found someone had set up a prank for me."

Mike chuckled in spite of himself. "So he gave me a fake name too. I'm not surprised."

"I should find him and wring his skinny little neck," she muttered, "I told him not to pull anything."

"I'll keep an eye out for him, now that I know he's trouble," said Mike. "I also put up a hidden wireless camera outside my door in case of any more pranks."

It was always nice to talk to the fellow paranoid. Somewhere. Except for where it made her more paranoid all by herself. "If you spot him, tell him I'm looking for him." A truly deadly look crawled across Kerrigan's face. "I always like a good chase."

Kerrigan was starting to remind Mike of his former boss, Ed Deline. He'd feel sorry for Sokka when she finally caught up with him. "I'll be sure to tell him that," Mike said.
