Akumal Beach Resort - Friday

You'd think warmth and sun would get boring. But...really, no.

The day was gorgeous, the water was sparkling, and there were buses ready to take the students and chaperones on the short half hour trip to the ancient Mayan ruins at Tulum.

Did I mention there was warmth and sun?

It's what we came for, isn't it?

There's plenty of white sand to lay out on, walk on, play beach volleyball etc.

The water is likewise fine with lots of water gear to float on or play with.

There aren't however any jetskis or other motorized boats here due to the reef that protects the bay the hotel is on.

But you can have kayaks and sailboats and such.

I totally still think the swings are cool

Not quite as good as the beach, but some people like it.

The main pool is what all the FH rooms look out on so wave to your classmates and ~~chaperones~~ while patronising the poolside bar.

There are plenty of pool toys as well as a jacuzzi and many, many chairs to lay out on.

* Horse riding/rental
* Parasailing
* Fishing

Because what's a vacation without plenty of shops to spend your money at!

There's a bus standing ready to take everyone at 11am for the half-hour ride to the city.

Azteca Restaurant - A la carte dinner from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

La Trattoria - A la carte dinner from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Here you will find authentic Italian specialties, enjoy them with a nice wine.

Langosta Borracha - Open from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
This is a specialties restaurant where you can enjoy the sea food delicacies.

Main Restaurant - Breakfast from 6:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Serves an all encompassing buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, culminating with a mouth-watering selection of desserts prepared in-house.

Open til 3am for dancing, drinking, and hot NPCs!

Morning found Lee in a swing, shirt off, sunglasses on.

He wasn't asleep. Honest.

Today, Kerrigan was spending most of her time near the bar.

Mostly to catch students in the act. Especially Sokka. She had an eye out for Sokka.

On the third day, Fraser finally decided to just go into the water. It helped that it was hot and the water looked cool.

So, off came the shirt and, in the extremely red swim trunks that Aly had gifted him with, he dove into the water to cool.

Lana was definitely there and ready to go on the tour!

Romeo took a seat on a swing and hopefully looked around for the waitress who had so kindly ignored his lack of ID the day before.

He couldn't find her, so he was stuck with a plain soda for the moment.

Turtle had gotten up early her usual poolside morning perusal of the Wall Street Journal, early enough with plenty of time to spare before the trip to the ruins.

Meg took a break from the beach and spent some time at the bar. She was in one of those cool swings, sipping on a margarita.

Today was the day Mel decided to get her fill of the bar which included a very large mixed drink with one of those little umbrellas in it.

Let's do it! ;)

... I really want to go.

Education on vacation? You couldn't keep Willow away.

And lo a drink appeared before Romeo looking like something very innocent. No umbrellas or anything.

"Drink up, lightweight," Mel said with a grin.

Romeo sniffed it and broke into a grin. "My savior!" he told Mel, sipping the rum and coke. "How are you this fine morning?"

[OOC: Feeling like death. Just finishing one thing at work before I head home, so may be slow.]

Even if Turtle wasn't so adamant about appreciating the history of the countries she was going to visit (spending time in the woods in Canada with mooses was totally celebrating its history), she would have still been very excited about this trip.

"Feeling more relaxed than I've felt in ages," Mel replied clinking her class against Romeo's. "I'm also trying to think of ways to stay here and not go back."

Getting a chance to see an ancient Mayan city? Like Alex was going to pass that up.

Just don't tell her brothers she was excited about something fairly educational. They would die of shock. Or never let her live it down.

Again, Alex was out on the beach. She was taking full advantage of the gorgeous weather, hoping to get a nice tan.

Mmm, Mexico.
