Akumal Beach Resort - Friday

You'd think warmth and sun would get boring.  But...really, no.

The day was gorgeous, the water was sparkling, and there were buses ready to take the students and chaperones on the short half hour trip to the ancient Mayan ruins at Tulum.

Did I mention there was warmth and sun?

"Really?" Mel asked with a smirk. "Anyone I know?"

Sokka bit his lip thoughtfully. "Hmmmm... Yeah, yeah I think so. I'm sure you'd know him if you saw him."

"Is it that Peter Petrelli guy with the hair in his face?" Mel asked with mock-hope.

"Hmmmmmm... Nope, not who I had in mind," Sokka replied, thoughtfully. He leaned closer to her -- if there was room, he was going to climb onto her lap.

"I'm sure it'll come to you."

"You're making it awfully hard to drink here," Mel said laughing.

"Really?" Sokka asked, as if he hadn't realized. "You'll just have to give me your drink, then, and I'll help you find something else to do with your mouth."

"Why? Are you going to get me a sandwich?"

"A sandwich of hot man-love," Sokka replied, with a grin. "Which does, in fact, I guess, come with a pair of delicious buns."

"Perv," Mel said shoving him off. "That's not even on the menu."

In a heap on the ground, Sokka chuckled and looked around excitedly. "You were serious about the sandwich? I thought they only served drinks here!"

"You can get a food from their menu," Mel smirked as she offered him a hand up. "It's not as big as the restaurants of course."

"But it is here, on the beach, which the restaurants are not," Sokka pointed out. He took a quick look at the menu. "DID you want a sandwich?" he asked. "I think I'm going to try a chimichitichongo."

"You mean a chimichanga?" Mel asked. "Yeah if they have that I'll take it."

Sokka tried to wave a waitress over, but got a hot cabana boy instead. Still, he soldiered on with an impressive display of Spanish. "Dos chimichangas, el please-o."

"Hey, I've only been here two days," Sokka protested. "My Mexican is still a little rusty."

"Your Mexican is non-existent."

"ALMOST non-existent," he corrected. "There a difference, chiquita."
