Sailing to Tersane Island, Wednesday Morning/Afternoon

After breakfast, the gulets headed out into the turquoise waters to sail towards Tersane Island. The island was once a center for ship building and the remains of the ancient shipyard can still be seen. More ruins await exploration up ahead - but if you're tired of all that, there's also the beach, and the small restaurant not too far away serves some good seafood for lunch.

Breakfast

Breakfast aboard the gulets is an elaborate affair. Large bowls filled with a salad comprised of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and feta cheese sit on the center of the spread. Spread out around it are various Turkish cheeses such asbeyaz peynir and kaşar; there is menemen and bread as well as honey, jam, a local sausage known as sucuk and other local meats, and there's a nice tray full of pastries, too.

What Alec was learning, much to his displeasure, was that it was really difficult to run through his usual training routines on a tiny boat. He'd given himself a break the past few days, but this morning he'd decided there was nothing else for it, and woke up early enough that he could practice a little on the shore before hurrying back aboard in time to set sail.

So now he could be found scarfing down breakfast. A lot of breakfast.

The Gulets - Sun Deck

Located on the front of each gulet, the sun deck is a perfect place to sunbathe or stargaze or just catch some air away from your roommate.

Cade was trying to make his front as tan as his back (being one of the lucky few whose sunburns turned to suntan overnight).

Closing his eyes, he took a catnap. Unlike other members of his extended family, Cade had noooo problem relaxing.

The Cetus - Sun Deck

The tanning was accidental.

Topher began by trying to install an umbrella over his chair so he didn't have to be exposed to all that pesky sun (despite the whopping SPF 100 he'd made sure to apply to every inch of him). Once that was set up and Topher was pleased with his efforts, he got himself a drink, settled in the chair, and started playing around on his tablet.

Then, almost at the exact same time, he spilled some of his drink on his shirt and the umbrella crashed down. So that was how Topher wound up accidentally tanning, shirtlessly, on the sun deck.

The Gulets - Dining Room and Saloon on the Main Deck

All meals aboard ship (and your sunset drinks) are served in the dining room and saloon on the main deck of your gulet.

The Gulets - Saloon Below Deck

In case it's raining or too cold to go outside, each gulet has an additional saloon below decks, perfect for chatting with friends, grabbing a drink, or reading a book.

On Shore

Tersane Island, which was formerly called Telandria, was inhabited in the past, but the remains of the ruined houses of the island, which are seen from the land and sea, total only about 140, and the only thing that's here and used any more is one restaurant making a thriving living feeding tourists from the gulets. There are remains of two churches, one of which is near the well and the other is on the hill; and the tomb of the chief of the people who lived here in the past is in the west.

Explore the Ancient Ruins

Check out the churches or the tomb, depending on which direction you head in. Just be careful and don't damage anything.

Swimming and Sunbathing

It's getting pretty hot out, so head into the water and cool down, or enjoy the sun.
