Sailing to Tersane Island, Wednesday Morning/Afternoon

After breakfast, the gulets headed out into the turquoise waters to sail towards Tersane Island. The island was once a center for ship building and the remains of the ancient shipyard can still be seen. More ruins await exploration up ahead - but if you're tired of all that, there's also the beach, and the small restaurant not too far away serves some good seafood for lunch.

In case you fell asleep somewhere strange again, last night. We're looking at you, Cade.

Breakfast aboard the gulets is an elaborate affair. Large bowls filled with a salad comprised of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and feta cheese sit on the center of the spread. Spread out around it are various Turkish cheeses such asbeyaz peynir and kaşar; there is menemen and bread as well as honey, jam, a local sausage known as sucuk and other local meats, and there's a nice tray full of pastries, too.

After breakfast, the ships take to the sea, wind in the sails.

Either with double beds or two twins, all rooms have a window or porthole, ensuite facilities with shower, a music system and TV, and air conditioning. Please move your conversation to private journals if your thread is going NWS.

Located on the front of each gulet, the sun deck is a perfect place to sunbathe or stargaze or just catch some air away from your roommate.

All meals aboard ship (and your sunset drinks) are served in the dining room and saloon on the main deck of your gulet.

In case it's raining or too cold to go outside, each gulet has an additional saloon below decks, perfect for chatting with friends, grabbing a drink, or reading a book.

Tersane Island, which was formerly called Telandria, was inhabited in the past, but the remains of the ruined houses of the island, which are seen from the land and sea, total only about 140, and the only thing that's here and used any more is one restaurant making a thriving living feeding tourists from the gulets. There are remains of two churches, one of which is near the well and the other is on the hill; and the tomb of the chief of the people who lived here in the past is in the west.

Check out the churches or the tomb, depending on which direction you head in. Just be careful and don't damage anything.

It's getting pretty hot out, so head into the water and cool down, or enjoy the sun.

Josh was having a lively discussion about Turkish politics with Yildirim as he ate a really tasty shrimp kebap with pilaf.

Mmm, Turkish food.

Cade was trying to make his front as tan as his back (being one of the lucky few whose sunburns turned to suntan overnight).

Closing his eyes, he took a catnap. Unlike other members of his extended family, Cade had noooo problem relaxing.

The water was too nice-looking to resist, so Anakin wasn't going to. In he plunged and it would possibly take an argument to get him to come back out ever again.
