FIELD TRIP - the Presidium - the Citadel, Saturday Afternoon & Evening

The group from Fandom arrived at the Presidium early into the afternoon, having travelled by shuttle. Upon first glance, it might have looked like an oddly disk-shaped but otherwise familiar garden city, blue skies up above, grass and trees below, and a long river crossed by many bridges-- but if you stared up for long enough, it would start to become obvious that the sky and the clouds drifting past were just a projection.

Not to worry, though; it wouldn't always be this bright. The Presidium kept to a precise 20-hour day cycle, of which six would be night-time. Not only that, but there seemed to be a perpetual light breeze ensuring that while temperatures ran reasonably warm, they never became unpleasantly hot.

The many public spaces were open, its white walls and floors offset by the abundant greenery. Here and there, you could still notice little splotches of black residue on the walls, or a damaged wall, or an empty spot that looked like it should have had a bench on it - but for the most part, this side of the Presidium was clean.

Not too fast for Ghanima to process, given her Bene Gesserit skills, but she just sipped her beverage - which she had already added her daily spice dose to - and squarely met the eyes of whichever of them was bold enough to glance her way, a faint smile over her cup.

Really now, neither her eyes nor her wardrobe were that different around here, were they? The children in jeans, yes, but Ghanima had never really understood the purpose of those uncomfortable pants.

The salarians noticed they'd been spotted and quickly glanced amongst themselves. Then one of them offered a friendly, "Hello."

So daring!

"Are you with the others?" the other salarian inquired.

"I am," she confirmed, inclining her head towards the one that had initially greeted her. "As one of the chaperones for the children."

Which meant provider of bail-money and commonsense, should either be needed.

"We were just discussing how unusual it is to see so many young visitors here," the first one explained. "Where do you all come from?"

"A boarding school, on Earth," Ghanima answered. "For special and gifted students." To Ghanima, they were all special and gifted, despite how the students might consider themselves.

"Fascinating." That one was in unison. Then the second salarian said sincerely, "Well, we hope you're enjoying your stay."
