FIELD TRIP - the Presidium - the Citadel, Saturday Afternoon & Evening

The group from Fandom arrived at the Presidium early into the afternoon, having travelled by shuttle. Upon first glance, it might have looked like an oddly disk-shaped but otherwise familiar garden city, blue skies up above, grass and trees below, and a long river crossed by many bridges-- but if you stared up for long enough, it would start to become obvious that the sky and the clouds drifting past were just a projection.

Not to worry, though; it wouldn't always be this bright. The Presidium kept to a precise 20-hour day cycle, of which six would be night-time. Not only that, but there seemed to be a perpetual light breeze ensuring that while temperatures ran reasonably warm, they never became unpleasantly hot.

The many public spaces were open, its white walls and floors offset by the abundant greenery. Here and there, you could still notice little splotches of black residue on the walls, or a damaged wall, or an empty spot that looked like it should have had a bench on it - but for the most part, this side of the Presidium was clean.

"Well, you just have to make the best of it while you're here," the bartender told him. "Have a few more drinks, dance the night away... if you get lost, C-Sec can always pick you back up afterward."

"It'll probably take me at least a few more drinks to get me up on that dance floor," Jonothon mused, glancing that way. "But... I think I just might. I'm certainly in the place for it, I can't deny that. Maybe a little longer sitting here to get a feel for the music before I bother getting up."

And watching everyone else dance to figure out how they were moving, because he didn't want to be the guy doing the equivalent of a square dance to something like dubstep, here in... whatever year it was, he wasn't actually sure.

Look, Jono, several patrons here had seen Shepard dance (http://sharkrobot.com/images/medium/shirt_mysticrev_shuffle_MED.jpg) and lived to tell the tale. You'd be fine.

"Hey, as long as you keep ordering drinks, I'm game," the bartender said. "And who knows, I get off work in an hour. I could show you the ropes."

What? She really did like his coloring, and he looked like a little lost critter.

A large little lost critter, even! But at least he was smiling this time, not about to let himself look too baffled by a compliment again while he was here.

"You know, I can absolutely see me still being here in an hour's time," he noted. "And I would most certainly appreciate any assistance you might have to offer."

Yes. Assistance. Ropes-showing. Time spent with a friendly face in an unfamiliar setting. Other.

"That's a deal I'm holding you to."

She glanced back down the bar and saw someone else waiting for her.

"You drink that," she said, "And I'll get back to you when you're finished." She smiled one last time. "My name is Aylia," she said, "Back in a few."

And so she bustled down the bar to serve an ornery turian his drink.

Aylia. Jono couldn't help but grin a little as she left him there with her name and a promise, taking a moment to just mouth the syllables of the word before getting back to his drink.

Aylia. Someone who seemed at least passingly attracted to him, a ridiculous distance from home. Not someone he'd have to worry about for the long term, but, he'd decided, definitely good company for tonight.

Jono could see himself becoming rather fond of Aylia, actually. At least until tomorrow.
