Banyan Tree Resort, Seychelles, Thursday [Morning and Afternoon]

Hopefully, everyone had packed their things well and not left anything behind in South Africa, because it was time to explore Seychelles! The staff of the Banyan Tree were ready to help Fandom's visitors with anything they might need - including making sure everyone remembered their umbrellas, because while the morning was nice and clear with a temperature of 27C/80F, it was going to get up to 30C/86F later in the day, with possible thunderstorms.

But hey, there was a whole new resort to explore if the weather didn't fully cooperate!

Jackson, smart boy that he was, rolled his eyes.

It was a specific value of 'smart'.

"Okay, and does she know what that looks like? This is a whole different culture."

"Well, she knows this isn't an attack," Korra said, splashing water at Jackson.

And if she might have subtly bent the water to make the wave a bit bigger and aimed more directly at him, he didn't need to know that.

It was still unfair! And it still made Jackson try and ineffectually block the water from getting on his face, not that his face wasn't wet already. It was just that potentially getting water up his nose was no fun.

And he still glared at her. Let's not forget the glaring.

"See, she didn't move," Korra said cheerfully, completely oblivious to the glaring.

If anything Naga was inching closer to the bar in hopes of begging for snacks from the staff.

"Great," Jackson drawled, with a tone that suggested there were other ways of proving your point, Korra (yes, he even looked at people in italics). "Well trained."

Well, sure there were, but this was the fun one. "I could call her into the pool if you don't believe me."

There'd be an even bigger splash if that happened.

He was still going to absently splash water at her. In a way that would have seemed playful from just about anyone else butwas probably born out of competitiveness in his case.

Like he could catch her by surprise.

Maybe if he was trying something other than splashing water at a waterbender he could have.

As it was, Korra let the water splash her rather than bend it away from her, you know in the interests of fairness. She was totally bending the water she sent back at him though, but again, subtly.

Jackson tried ducking out of the way, but it didn't quite work. There was less glaring this time though. Slightly. ... Okay, you had to pay really close attention to notice but still.

He scooped up water into his palms and just tried straight-up throwing that at her.

Korra laughed even as the water hit her. She hadn't been able to just do this kind of pure, silly play in a long time.

A thought struck her and still grinning, she took a deep breath and dived under the surface.

Jackson did not like the look of that.

He immediately scrambled backwards a bit, but moving upright in water was slow, at best.

Jackson was wise to try and get away, but Korra didn't even need her bending for quick underwater swimming. See, fair!

Sorry, Jackson, you had an Avatar trying to duck you.

And not unsuccessfully! There were a few expletives, and a lot of flailing and water flying about.

Embarrassing.

Since trying to laugh underwater would have ended badly, Korra surfaced again. Yes, just to laugh at Jackson.

In time to see Jackson still sputtering and wiping water from his eyes.

He didn't look too pleased, but he also didn't seem to be moving in to retaliate.

Korra didn't seem too concerned with any potential retribution. She was in her element...literally.

Of course, dry insults like that probably worked better if the person on the receiving end had the right frame of reference.

"Was that a pun?" she asked, trying to parse the insult. "You know, element, Water Tribe, water?"

Jackson squinted at her, about equally confused. "What? No." He wasn't going to let his confusion keep him from seeming like she was the idiot here. "No, elementary school, ages six to eleven?"

Yeah, someone had spent ages four to seventeen in a secure compound, not school. "I was slearning bending from Master Katara?" Which supposed could be vaguely related to their current situation, since waterbending.
