White House [Tuesday, November 20 all day]

It was a very serious Josh who stood before the group of students and tried not to think too much on the one face that should still be there.

"Welcome to the White House," he said. "We have been granted a very special privilege--they're letting us walk around while the President is still in the Oval Office." He made eye contact with each student. "If any of you do anything to embarrass me or the school, a year's worth of detention will be the least of your problems. The President's Secret Service detail qualifies with their weapons once a month and they don't miss unless they want to."

He handed out their visitor passes. "I have a couple of people I need to talk to while I'm here, but the staff knows you're with me, so feel free to wander just a little bit around the West Wing. If you go anywhere near a place where the walls start curving out, turn around and go back the way you came. We'll meet the President before we go, but you aren't going to randomly stumble into his office and set off World War III."

Welcome! Boggle! Don't set off the metal detectors or get run over by the frantic pedeconferencing staff members. It might be two days before Thanksgiving, but they're still working hard.

It wasn't her reality or her president, but Molly still thought it was cool to be in the White House. She had her camera out and was ready to take pictures.

Sam was kind of ridiculously excited about this, and not just because it was keeping his mind off of the weekend.

Hermione actually felt kind of unprepared, due to research and a couple very fuzzy days over the weekend. Which meant she brought a notebook to take notes.

Ronan was distinctly not trying to think about the events of the day before while carefully and discretely slipping his blade into a claudicated pocket, keeping it out of normal space and thus from detection by the metal detectors. It's not like he planned to use it on anyone else, after all, and one never knew when would need blood for healing.

Jenny innocently looked around the bullpen, trying not to look ridiculously British (the Union Jack on her sweater probably gave that game away) and not like she was scouting to steal their office supplies. Because come on.

Watching quietly and admiringly from a little distance isn't bothering, surely. At least Lana hoped not. But this might well be the only chance she'd ever get to be in here and she was going to exploit the opportunity as much as possible.

The field trip is for Josh's government class and all members of the current student council. I'll be back to ping in with random guest stars around 1PST, but I do have lovely other folks helping me out, too. Feel free to pair up and make up your own adventures with NPC Oval Office staff.

Just, um, don't do something that would get you shot by the Secret Service.
