They made their way up to the Declaration of Independence. "It's amazing how much power one piece of paper has," Veronica said. That might work. I wonder what our best escape route would be. The metro stations are probably pretty crowded, we might be able to get lost in one of those.

Piper glanced at the Declaration of Independence. "It's amazing how old that one piece of paper is. Damn, didn't think of that. Too bad we don't have a big van outside waiting for us. That would make things easier."

"The technology in this place is really advanced to preserve it. Hmm, allegedly there are tunnels underneath the city. I wonder if we could access one from in here somewhere?"

"Technology? Please, I bet they use magic," Piper said with a grin. "Probably. We'd just have to find them."

Veronica chuckled softly. "Maybe you're right."

They walked over to stand in the line to view the Constitution so they wouldn't look too suspicious for staying in one place too long. "It's nice doing a normal school type thing for a change," Veronica said. "And I've never been to DC before."

"I've never been to DC either," Piper added.

After they viewed the Constitution, Veronica and Piper decide to leave and check out another tourist spot.

From the Gift shop area, Veronica might notice the following conversation:

Gift Store Clerk: Are you trying to steal that?

"Oh! Umm...?" say a guy with a receding hairline and a document stuffed his jacket.

"It's thirty-five dollars," the clerk says sternly.

"For this?" for this says the man hold a replica of the declaration of the independence.

"Yeah."

"That's a lot"

"Hey, I don't make the prices."

The man starts searching through his wallet. "That's umm... thirty-two... fifty-seven?"

"We take Visa," the clerk says rolling his eyes.

Veronica notices the guy and thinks he's kind of cute. She also thinks that if she were going to steal the Declaration, she'd definitely want a replica as a backup.
