Blair watched Nadia nervously as she went into the duct before turning and looking around at the people around him. It was sorta nice that he didn't have to worry about impressing her, because there was no way he was crawling up in that death trap. Speaking of...he looked up at the duct and studied it. There wasn't as many giggles and banging noises. Walking to wear some kids were crawling out he groaned. No Nadia. He tried to get the attention of a tour guide, but he was busy corraling several middle school kids and not interested in helping.

Finally Blair turned and walked up the stairs to the duct and inched his way in. "Nadia?" He wasn't sure why he was whispering...but it seemed appropriate. "Nadia...are you dead?"

Nadia had seen Blair head towards the stairs and suddenly thought of a way to get him through the duct. She waited for a group of younger kids to start trying to crawl by her and joined them, to mask the sound of her own journey. As she got out the other end, she heard Blair whispering into the vent . . . it sounded like from within it.

Excellent.

She ducked to one side to stay out of sight and waited for Blair to emerge, biting her lip to keep from laughing.

Blair heard movement up ahead and called out a little louder. "Nadia? Are you okay?" Crawling forward, he tried not to think of how high this was, or how far he could fall or pie. Because pie makes people heavier, yo.

As he crawled through the gate, he whispered, "Think light. Think light. Think light."

Nadia was ever so slightly worried by how nervous Blair sounded. . . . But figured the experience would be good for him. Weren't you supposed to confront your fears to get over them?

She stayed silent, now biting her lip to keep from reassuring him.

Choose someone else over her, would he?

Evil!

Blair inched past another grate and shut his eyes tightly. Looking out was not a smart idea. His mantra speeded up. "thinklightthinklightthinklightthinklight"

Now Nadia was getting worried. She could track his progress easily enough, but he was moving awfully slowly. She nearly cut her lip, biting it so hard, and finally climbed back up, getting yelled at by a couple middle schoolers on the way, and paused on the end of the duct.

"Blair, you okay?"

"Nadia!" Blair moved a little quicker down the duct. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Just, you know, now feeling incredibly guilty. "I thought you were too scared to come up here."

Blair finally reached the end of the duct and climbed out and down the stairs to sit on the floor. He took a few deep breaths and looked up at Nadia. "I thought maybe you had gotten scared or hurt or something, so I came after you."

He paused and added, "And I wasn't scared...I was just really, really cautious."

Nadia nodded slightly, biting her lip again. The dumbass had come to find her because he really thought she might have been hurt.

Dammit, stop being nice to me!

"I'm so sorry, Blair, that was a really dumb trick to pull."

Blair looked at her for a moment and then grinned. "Nah, it's okay. And look!" He bounced and stood up. "No harm, no foul, no little blairsplat on the ground. It's all good!"

blairsplat? Nadia shook her head. "No, it was a dumb thing to do. I'm sorry." She looked around. "Let's go see what else there is, huh?"

Blair grabbed ahold of her arm gently. "Nadia, seriously, I'm not upset. I forgive you." He smiled and motioned forwards. "Now lets keep having fun!"

Nadia let Blair head out in front of her, while shaking her head to herself.

There was just no stopping this kid, was there?

She was swallowing again. She was beginning to think there was something actually wrong with her throat. Blair wasn't that cute, was he?

Blair looked around at some of the exhibits, oblivious to Nadia's sore throat.

Nadia's enthusiasm for the museum had somewhat dwindled. . . . at least until she reached the door marked "the gates of hell" in the midst of the history of spies section.

"Wow." She peered through the door, watching the images of Soviets and Nazis march by on the walls. "That's . . . really, really creepy."

Blair shuddered. "Creepy with a capital C."

Nadia watched the images with a look of fascinated horror for a moment before she shook herself. "Let's keep going." She headed out of the room and into the WWII propaganda section of the tour.

That was much more cheerful.

[ooc: and alas, we're reaching the end of my knowledge of the Spy Museum, since it closed when we were at the Enigma machine exhibit right after the propaganda one.]

Blair grinned. "Loose lips sink ship is my favorite! I just like saying it."

Nadia smiled, and found the small replication movie theater, where old propaganda films and news reels were playing.

She watched about thirty seconds of Donald Duck learning to be a good American citizen and grimaced.

"They weren't very subtle, were they."

Blair shoook his head. "Not so much."

He laughed as his stomach growled. "Let's go see where everyone is eating lunch, okay?"
